If the cops were black, and especially if the police beating victim were white, we wouldn't have heard of this story. Blacks are much more likely to resist, thus "inviting" police to beat them with the excuse of subduing them.

I think that gang-beating of a 64-year-old man (black or not) is another pathetic example of what cowardly anusholes most cops are. The same goes for that fat boy who tried to act like a big, macho tough guy, hiding behind his badge as he pushed the inoffensive, nonviolent reporter up against the car. Cops who act like that should be shot through their heads.
It makes little difference to me what color the cops were or what color their victim was. When cops step out of line, they should get their asses kicked back into line by angry, armed citizens. If we serfs get punished for disobeying laws, then cops should be punished twice as seriously. They think they rule over the rest of us, but their authority is granted by We The People and is a privilege, not a right.
Yes, we all know that blacks commit crimes far more often than whites -- though in the above case the "crime" was something that nearly all of us have probably committed at one time or another (public drunkenness). But it's not the job of police to punish crime. When they do that, they should be hunted down by vigilantes and severely punished. That's how freedom is preserved.

I have known a few dozen, currently count a half a dozen among my friends, and what you assert, based on my contact both as citizen interacting with officers doing their daily thing, and with the folks I know socially, is hypberole at best, and pure, unadulterated BS at worst.
All that said, I agree with you that when officers breach the public trust, who vacate their office by breaking the law, the accountability and sanction must be both stern and rigorous. Funnily enough, the cops I know feel the same as I do about unprofessional officers.

Aired videos of cops beating up civilians are usually unfair to the cops because they don't show what the punk did to start and aggravate the problem, they only show the situation after the punk is no longer able to resist but the cops are still cruising on adrenaline (cops are only human).
Angler's right, unless one of those cops has a knife wound in his gut from the old black man, I can't imagine anything could even come close to excusing the behavior of those cops. Then there's the cop on the horse and the cop on the ground who both try to prevent media cameras from catching the incident.
Most cops are good. But, force is the nature of their job, and none of us take kindly to force being applied against us. It's all the worse when even those good cops do things they shouldn't because they work for a corrupt system that would fire them otherwise.

Too many cops are the same class as street punks. There is no reason to beat up a drunken blackamoor coming out of a bar. I speak as an ex-lawman myself. The average French or Dutch cop is far above his American counterpart in training and education. Just wait long enough, and the average group of cops is bound to cause problems of unneccessary violence or corruption.

Wonder why the only cops they catch beating people are white?
I know - the black cops are probably too busy out looting somewhere to have time to beat people. :lol:

As I occasionally catch more video segments of this beating, Im wondering just what brought on such a severe whuppin by the police ?
