Predictable like a sunset. There are probably 10x more Africans than they would have been able to sustain on their own. The solution to starvation is to let it do its job and let the savage population return to the natural (for African intelligence) level for a hunter-gatherer society. Letting them zimbabwean monkeys starve would be a poetic justice.

The army in Zimbabwe is no longer able to feed all its soldiers, military analysts in southern Africa have said.

The Institute for Security Studies, based in South Africa, told the BBC that the army had run out of money to buy adequate daily rations.

This week, soldiers spoke of being sent home on forced leave. The army denied it was because of food shortages.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) says Zimbabwe's economy is in decline and food security is an urgent issue.

'No dissent'

The Institute for Security Studies has been making a detailed assessment of the state of Zimbabwe's armed forces.

Its analysts say that on the basis of information from inside Zimbabwe, the military is now experiencing the same problems as other government departments - namely, that it has run out of money.

They argue that a combination of factors is to blame: economic mismanagement, the collapse of the Zimbabwe dollar, international sanctions and drought.

This has resulted in some soldiers being sent home on leave as the army cannot afford to feed them, they say.

However, the military experts describe Zimbabwe's armed forces as professional, disciplined and loyal to President Robert Mugabe.

There is no suggestion at this stage of any widespread dissent within the ranks of the army.

A Zimbabwean army spokesman has insisted there is enough food for the soldiers, although the government admitted this week that more than two million people in the country needed emergency food aid.

This is all the more meaningful and amazing since in totalitarian countries, it is always the armed forces that are at the top of the food chain, most likely to be fed. If even they aren't getting enough food, you know things are going badly.

I hope Mugabe's government is going to collapse the most visible and humiliating way possible, embarrassing egalitarians all over the world.

I understand that the armed forces of Zimbabwe are primarily recruited from Mugabe's own tribe, which would explain their loyalty...

Never fear, W to the rescue! Just tack on a few billion in aid for mugabe to the hurricane relief package(s) and see if it buys the neocons some more of the negro vote.

That's true, Petr, though it is questionable how long that state of affairs will last if he can't feed them and allow them spoils. Idi Amin had to resort to that and his situation was the same.

With the exception of Botswana all of the other Southern African nations have been in rapid decline in recent years. The environment in much of Africa is harsh and this region is subject to a seven year drought cycle.

The US and EU currently produce 60% of the worlds agricultural produce and we dump much of are excess production on this part of the world in exchange for fruit and commodities exports.

Africa's corrupt and incompetent Marxist governments never silo sufficient maize to meet there peoples needs. This coupled with an AIDS pandemic and a flight of capital investment will lead to the eventual social economic collapse of sub-Saharan Africa.

The only people that have historically looked out for the Africans are the Europeans. When will they realise that our kinds decline also means that of there own. The Muslim Asians and Arabs have been enslaving and killing Christian Africans for decades. There are currently four million~ Africans amassed in North Africa tying to enter the EU. Immigration has weakened Europe to such an extent that it is becoming increasingly uncompetitive.

Just no whitey to "show 'em how."

Just no whitey to "show 'em how."
The Chinese have long noted the vast potential of African land in both mineral and agricultural development. The Chinese do not need Whitey to show them how. Astute black Africans have long noticed that westerners have shown far more interest in African wildlife than their two legged kind.

The Asians worship gold.

The Chinese are interested in asserting control of Africa's mineral wealth and not developing it's agricultural resources. Unless you would have us believe that they are there for entirely altruistic reasons. Whilst the US and EU are obviously in competition with Asia. Africa is and alway has been traditionally within Europe's sphere of influence and the EU is still by far Africa's largest singular trading partner.

Europe has traded heavily with Africa in one way or another for over five hundred years. The presence of China and the US in this region is hostile to long term European geo-strategic interests. Yet the US has become increasingly unsympathetic to towards Africa in recent years due to "governance concerns".

Chasing whitey out of Africa has not improved the lot of the African people. Since the European can no longer operate freely in Africa. Europe whilst not openly denying the African access to are markets, is now withholding both investment and increasingly aid to the region.

Yet Africa must secure European assistance to survive. Without increased European aid much of Africa now faces starvation. Africa must realign it's self with Europe. The Europeans know full well of the plight facing the African people and will help.
The abundance of grain and food in China is a recent phenomenon. The greatest famine in the history of the world took place in China in 1960 with the death of some 30 million Chinese. The treacherous American media managed not to report on this man-induced crime, and Edgar Snow lied about it.

China will pursue its goals as it sees fit. Past history and claims by Europe to primacy will matter little to the Chinese.
