E85 motor fuel

E85 is the term for motor fuel blends of 85 percent ethanol and just 15 percent gasoline. E85 is an alternative fuel as defined by the U.S. Department of Energy. Besides its superior performance characteristics, ethanol burns cleaner than gasoline; it is a completely renewable, domestic, environmentally friendly fuel that enhances the nation's economy and energy independence.

Very interesting, Faust. This is the first I've heard of E85.

Corn squeezins, good for more than just putting in your tank!

One of these days, maybe the independent farmer will have 2 stills, one for fuel and the other for "medicinal purposes"

E85 is . . . it is a completely renewable, domestic, environmentally friendly fuel that enhances the nation's economy and energy independence.

National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition http://www.e85fuel.com/
Careful about believing biased sources. To produce ethanol in quantities suitable for the consumption to fuel America, the amount of fertilizer run off into the rivers and ground water will significantly increase.

That is not without environmental cost. Was up the Nueces River, (north of Uvalde) this spring. The years of enriched minerals running off into the river has created a home for quite a few plants that choke the oxygen out of shallow streams and creeks, which puts the kibosh on many game fish.

No free lunch.

Still, nice to see the chance for a resurgence of the American farmer continues . . .
As long as he doesn't get them confused.
Actually it doesn't make any difference if you use it for yourself. As soon as you start shipping or selling it though you have got to add 0.5% gasoline or wood alcohol, or you're in trouble with the revenuers.

Other than that little kicker, the same distillate that fires your engine fires you even better.
