Haven't acquired a taste for scotch, so I wouldn't even pay $43.

My brother in law used to live outside Nashville. One Christmas he bought some bourbon that, iirc, was sold in pint bottles for about $100. Only distilled spirit I've ever had that I can truly say I savored neat.

I went to a scotch tasting with a friend once. I think it was put on by Johnny Walker. Up until then I thought that scotch was vile. But after the tasting and education on single malts I have to say there are some quite nice ones around. That's a good site Josey. mcallan is good stuff, but oowwwwwch, thats pricey! :gunsmilie[/QUOTE] I prefer Talisker and Glenturret, though the Macallan is a lovely scotch. The nice thing about single malts is that you can, with a little testing (hooray for the journey!) find a taste that suits you just right.
