With his vocal opposition to President Bushââ¬â¢s immigration overhaul proposal, Tancredo has ââ¬Åhas earned the enmity of Bush's chief political adviser, Karl Rove.ââ¬Â

You heard that line, Karl Rove :disgust: told him to "never darken the White House door again".
Running for President, that's one way to ensure he still will.
Right-wing populists, like George Wallace and Patrick Buchanan, have ââ¬Åbedeviled American political parties in presidential elections for more than 30 years,ââ¬Â reports Bloomberg News. Rep. Tom Tancredo (R) could join their ranks in 2008. With his vocal opposition to President Bushââ¬â¢s immigration overhaul proposal, Tancredo has ââ¬Åhas earned the enmity of Bush's chief political adviser, Karl Rove.ââ¬Â
ââ¬ÅTancredo said he hopes one of the more establishment candidates seeking the Republican presidential nomination in 2008 will adopt his anti-immigration stance,ââ¬Â but he is not afraid to join the race if none do. ââ¬ÅHe recently met with Republican Virginia Senator George Allen, a possible presidential aspirant, to discuss immigration and said he came away mildly encouraged.ââ¬Â
Tancredo is also opposed to the H1-B program, as was observed in this old thread here.

What's sort of puzzling though is when you read the fine print Tom Tancredo's bill also has some "guest worker" provisions. I guess the view is that you really can't completely stop this sort of thing. But its puzzling considering his rhetoric.
