Blame racist liberals
Let one conservatively slanted opinion piece sneak past The Tribune's editors and the Bush-bashing, blame America crowd blows a fuse. The Sept. 14 edition contains six out of eight Public Forum letters ripping Paul Mero (Tribune, Sept. 11) a new one, and one of the others is another stupid attempt to deflect individual blame from rapists, thugs and other anti-social misanthropes onto President Bush. Louisiana and New Orleans have been run by liberal Democrats for about 50-60 years, and as such there should exist a literal liberal utopia where everyone is equal, is treated equally, and there are no poor or impoverished. The truth, obviously, is far from this. What actually existed in New Orleans is factual evidence of everything that is wrong with our liberalism-inspired entitlement society. It is the result of decades of people selected for their nearly complete lack of initiative and near total helplessness because they are promised and handed just enough by liberal do-gooders to keep sending liberal do-gooders back to office only to promise and deliver more of the same. What Paul Mero was pointing out is that an entire class of poorly educated, valueless, clueless, helpless citizens has been created by 50 years of social engineering policies designed to do just that. If you righteously indignant liberals need somewhere to assign blame, then look no further than your own racist, self-serving, welfare-state policies.

That sounds all good and nice, but what actually existed in New Orleans is "factual evidence" of something more along the lines of niggers will be niggers and there is no amount of handouts and special privilages,etc that is going to change that.
