“He acts like an animal, has an animal’s habits! Eats like one, moves like one, talks like one!” Blanche DuBois didn’t know how true her words were and how well they apply to a cesspool called New Orleans. The trolley that ran from Mardi Gras to Southern Decadence traveled from drunken profligacy to sadistic perversion. The quaint French Quarter is hardly the home of saints. Now that the streetcar has derailed off its tracks, the true nature of the degenerate lifestyle that tolerates, condones and favors predatory behavior has lost any residue of desire. The pillaging of marauding thugs would make Idi Amin proud. By what stretch of common decency are virtuous citizens obligated to sympathize with the plight of self-induced barbarism?

Hurricane Katrina was a killer. Mother nature can be indiscriminant, cruel and unforgiving. Yet, by what distortion and excuse do limousine liberals pour forth rivers of compassion for those with genes predisposed towards degenerate conduct? It comes as no surprise when Rush Limbaugh, calls the storm Hurricane Katrina vanden Heuvel, after the whiner - editor of The Nation. She retorts – where is the genuine empathy? Consistent in the inherent hypocrisy of the Great Society crowd is a creed of abstract benevolence for people they love so long as they don’t need to live among them. Blanche may not have been “young and vulnerable any more”, but Katrina was never pretty or ever sincere.

The reams of print devoted to the plight of the dispossessed varies from authentic charity to vile demagoguery. The Demogorgon that stands responsible for the disaster of designed dependency operates a controlled culture that accepts an all powerful central government as the savior for society. Demands for my FEMA trailer as a right, demonstrates just how far the country has deteriorated from the rigid individualism that built this nation. Neighborly aid and assistance is laudable. Nonetheless, federal relief intended for rural removal to build coastal communities that serves macro corporations becomes the eventual result from extensive shoreline regeneration. The entire band of water's edge will have an upscale redevelopment that will out price the locals. The Gulf of Mexico land bubble will expand further until it blows. The pretext of a natural disaster will serve the lust for eminent domain confiscation when stubborn landholders seek to rebuild, but can’t afford the escalated costs from imminent stringent building codes.

Edgar Steele offers his usual common sense evaluation: “Already, people are talking of draining and rebuilding New Orleans...with our tax dollars, of course. What morons! The present site, built an average of eight feet beneath the level of adjacent lakes, rivers, streams and the ocean itself should be abandoned forever, with the city rebuilt on nearby land that is above sea level. You've really got to wonder whether the liberals believe their own propaganda about global warming and the concomitant rise of sea levels.”

Conversely, George Friedman in an analytical essay - New Orleans: A Geopolitical Prize - builds the case for reconstruction. He states:

“A simple way to think about the New Orleans port complex is that it is where the bulk commodities of agriculture go out to the world and the bulk commodities of industrialism come in. The commodity chain of the global food industry starts here, as does that of American industrialism. If these facilities are gone, more than the price of goods shifts: The very physical structure of the global economy would have to be reshaped. Consider the impact to the U.S. auto industry if steel doesn't come up the river, or the effect on global food supplies if U.S. corn and soybeans don't get to the markets.”

Couple the pragmatic reality that shipping channels represent the underlying rational why New Orleans will survive as a center of commerce with the forewarning that Patrick Wood puts forth in Global Cities for Global Corporations and you have the master plan for a “Big Easy” version of urban renewal. Mr. Woods quotes: Our Urban Future: Making a Home for Homo Urbanus.

“Residual rural attitudes and institutions are major reasons why cities do not work well for all residents, marginalizing some and excluding others. Transferring into an urban context long-held prejudices and a natural fear of strangers - a fear that is intimately connected to rural settlements - provides the basis for dysfunctional social relationships. Prejudice and fear slow the wheels of both commerce and government..."

The concept of a Master City has been proposed by urban planners, which are based upon the elite interests of the corporate/state model. Mr. Wood has skepticism that such plans can be easily implemented: “Even if a city could be agreed upon, how difficult would it be to "remodel" that city to assume the role of Master City?” Well, the Killer Hurricane ‘Katrina vanden Heuvel’, has just offered up the opportunity for some serious social engineering.

Just what do you think Huey Long would say and do if he was still governor? Journalist Greg Palast misconstrues "Kingfish" populism with progressive socialist policies. “In other words, Huey Long founded the modern Democratic Party. Franklin Roosevelt and the party establishment, scared senseless of Long's ineluctable march to the White House, adopted his program, called it the New Deal, and later The New Frontier and the Great Society.”

Opposition to Standard Oil and Wall Street distortion of capitalism should not be confused with a progressive legislative and bureaucratic agenda solution. Understand that Populism represents the pro active political underpinnings that recognizes that the Statist is the supreme enemy of the Republic. Those who lust after power for no other reason than to enrich and protect their own narrow appetites are the unfeigned problem. The reason that the people must be shielded from the common sense of Populism, is reducible to the fear that elites have, that the regular folk will wake up to the fraud of the two party, one NWO voice, political system. The New Orleans that was destroyed was the product of the Great Society disease. And the New Orleans that will be rebuilt is the ‘desire’ of the corporate/state to eliminate the Frankenstein element from among their own midst.

Blanche DuBois was in real need of a protector at this stage in her life. Her circumstances lead her into paying a visit to her younger sister Stella. She didn't understand how Stella could have picked a husband so lacking in refinement. Stanley Kowalski sums up the plight of not only New Orleans but the rest of the country.

“Now that's how I'm gonna clear the table. Don't you ever talk that way to me. 'Pig,' 'Pollack,' 'disgusting,' 'vulgar,' 'greasy.' Those kind of words have been on your tongue and your sister's tongue just too much around here. What do you think you are? A pair of queens? Now just remember what Huey Long said - that every man's a king - and I'm the King around here, and don't you forget it.”

The bleeding heart misogamists hate not only marriage between man and woman, but they also loathe the supremacy of the common man over the pretense of their oligarchic condescension. The practical utilitarian functions for a port at the mouth of the Mississippi demand a mature and intelligent relocation from the rubble of Sodom and Gomorra. Let the sink hole revert to natures’ will. Resist the temptation of massive federal corporate welfare. Ordinary citizens will bear the cost and it will be sold to the public with incipit hype, interdependency addiction and resigned enslavement. Dependency on government for one’s way in the world is the definitive fraud from worshiping a deceptive culture. Turning New Orleans into a Master City experiment is not the answer to tame the animal habits. This Streetcar won’t stop the madness just because a few select profiteers desire to reshape in their image a proscribed future for the rest of us. Katrina is a wake up call. How many more do you need before you get the message?
