For some reason, the speaker icon has disappeared from the task bar at the bottom right of my monitor screen making it impossible for me to adjust volume with my mouse. Also, I can't fine tune the "sliders" as I can only get to them by double clicking on the icon ( I don't know why, but these "sliders" have a tendency to set themselves to "mute" and the only way I can get sound then is by moving them back up). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure this is checked and then click APPLY. and voila.

The only way for me to get to the sliders is via that speaker icon which I can't get to come up.

Never mind - I got it back, but it was a long process as I didn't know what I was doing. Thanks for your help.
ahh, glad you got it.
One other thing you can help me out with if you will: I can't figure out how to start a new thread. Yeah, yeah, I know: I started this one, but I don't remember how I did it and the "FAQ" board is no help at all.

Opera,
You need to open up the folder page (i.e., "current events") for the article you want to post. In the upper left hand corner it will say "new thread". Click that and you'll go to a new window where you can post the item.
