All: What was once the premier libertarian site on the Web has tumbled--with the absence/abandonment of its owner "John Deere"--into a simple bitch-fest between died-in-the-wool-Dumbya-bleaters and persons who know the score.
From the below, it looks to this analyst as if "John Deere" (who I interviewed--the only interview this mysterious man has ever granted for publication--in 2003) is intent upon keeping the domain name but prohibiting it for resale/transfer et al. If my sniffer is correct, the site will time out in February of next year and be no mo'.

Gosh, he seems like an amorphous fellow, just another libertarian disappointed with Free Republic.
It usually takes more than that to keep a fellow going year after year. But I admire that there are still some good Christians out there wth principles, even if their efforts are lost getting themselves tied down with libertarianism.

LibertyForum, which was founded by "John Deere" (and who abandoned the site in July 2004, w/o public explanation) just went offline yesterday.
The expiration date of the domain name is February 2006; but "John Deere" has stipulated that it is a "NO TRANSFER" deal (e.g., he'll probably renew the name, fer $7.95, but won't sell it to anyone).
Any thoughts?

We get tons of hits from there every month but I'll be danged if I can figure out from where exactly. I stopped trying to navigate the ins and outs of that place years ago, though I still check the latest posts from time to time.
