FOX UNPLUGGED Indie rockers force Hannity to change number BY MIKE MILIARD

A few weeks ago, we introduced you to Brooklyn indie agit-popsters Kids Against Combs, who’d just finished an album that used the private phone number of Fox News loudmouth Sean Hannity as its title. (See "Combs Nail Hannity," This Just In, July 15.)

Sean Hannity (631) 673-8003 was set to be released on July 21 by 10-34 Records. But, according to a press release sent out last week by the band, Kids Against Combs and 10-34 were issued papers on July 15 from Hannity’s attorneys, "threatening to sue both parties if they proceeded with releasing an album named after Hannity’s home phone number and containing the political pundit’s home address in the CD’s liner notes." (The digits, meanwhile, are now disconnected; "changed to an unlisted number," says the recording.)

The band also alleges that spies from the Hannity camp — or at least some people who "looked extremely conservative Republican" and "not the type of folk that would be at any sort of live performance, except for maybe Paul Anka or Wayne Newton" — arrived to scope out a KAC performance the next day. Luckily, the band had freshly printed copies of the album for sale, sans home address and retitled The Album Formerly Known As Sean Hannity’s Phone Number ... Currently Sean Hannity Is a Democracy Subverting Douche Bag.

Despite the fact that 66 percent of our Style and Usage Panel prefer that "douchebag" be written as a compound word, they’re in unanimous agreement that the new title works just as well.

As obnoxious an ass as Hanniot is, he deserves this sort of pestering from these guys.

Nice find Sertorius!

Hannity's a "political pundit"? Who did he blow to get that distinct title? I thought his title was "Great American"?

Hannity's nothing but a smug, sheckel grabbing, faux tough guy, ranting shill, shabbos goy, A-HOLE.

But, I think Kids Against Combs have it just right:Currently Sean Hannity Is a Democracy Subverting Douche Bag.

XM,

I figured you'd get a kick out of this, I did. A "great American"? He's more like a great big boil on the backside of America. I have to laugh at the idiots who seem to think that this clown is a journalist and even worse, some sort of great intellectual thinker. As someone who has actually read his books, I can say with certainty that if you were to take an eight pound sledge hammer and crack open Hannity's skull you would find pig feces in lieu of brains. He is the stupidest person on talk radio other than those fools who call him a "great American". Hannity attracts people like these bands the way :dung: attracts flies.

The article from the above link:

COMBS NAIL HANNITY Indie band urges fans to call crank BY MIKE MILIARD

One of the best songs by X, the old Los Angeles punk group, is a snarling, accusatory rant called "Your Phone’s Off the Hook, But You’re Not."

It’s a tune Fox News blowhard Sean Hannity might want to acquaint himself with soon. Because another band, Brooklyn indie-politicos Kids Against Combs, have fallen into possession of Hannity’s home phone number. And they’ve made it the title of their forthcoming album. The disc, on 10-34 Records, hits shelves next Thursday, July 21. Après ça, le déluge.

In the liner notes to Sean Hannity (631) 673-[XXXX] (we blocked out the last digits to keep from spoiling the band’s surprise), fans will find an open letter to the pugnacious talking head, taking him to task for his "arrogant faux journalism and uninformed commentary" and decrying the fact that his "deception, slander and arrogance have left a scar on the minds of Americans."

Kids Against Combs, who play slowly loping weepers and rhythmically tricky entreaties with titles like "Capitalism Is Going To Break Your Heart" and "**** This, I’m Moving to Canada," say they want to "destroy apathy and bring a soul back to [a] subculture" — indie rock, presumably — that’s overpopulated with "whiny boys who wear girls’ jeans." Taking the fight to Hannity’s back yard is one way to do that.

KAC frontman Degal, who’s currently pursuing a master’s in government and politics at St. John’s University, explains via e-mail that he’s "a very firm believer in media reform. Without it, we have no hope for our democracy." Sean Hannity, with his bellicose bullying and hectoring half-truths, is a prime offender.

Degal was given Hannity’s digits by a friend. "I had been sitting on his number for a while, and decided to use it one night while flipping through channels, after I landed on Fox," he writes. (He also posted the number and address on the Majority Report radio-show message board in May 2004.) "I hope that Mr. Hannity will be bothered to the point that he can not escape the voice of reason. If callers harass him — as he does [his guests] — I wouldn’t mind. Hopefully it will stimulate some debate, but I don’t expect Mr. Hannity to be open to a double-sided conversation."

Sert, Thing is, I formed my opinions about Hannity by listening to him. I listened to his arguments against "liberals" and all other such dark forces threatening America and coming to the conclusion based upon his expressed views that the guy is simply an absolute baboon. That's more than what the demented Freeperdroids can say about those with whom they disagree with. The Freep-a-droids don't even indulge their curiosity or intellect in studying opposing views...or at least I doubt they do.

Monkeys can be trained to perform certain tasks, you know.

I like KAC's song titles. It's also good to see punk rock youth getting political....especially when it's against the psychotic Hannity class "conservatives". I just wonder if the young man is aware of who currently runs the corroded American media?

I don't know. I think I'd have to say that I hate punks and Indie Rockers and other unwashed, unkempt, and uncouth members of my generation more than I hate a pompous neo-con like Hannity.

The kids in that band probably just hate Hannity becuase that's what members of the left-wing do. They're probably a bunch of marxists or anarchists as well.

Hate them both, I say. :P

Both get a big kick out of caling each other names and posturing against each other, but at their heart they're basically both phonies, just in it for the money and dutifully playing to their respective peanut galleries.

Currently Sean Hannity Is a Democracy Subverting Douche Bag.

Democracy means the jews and their hangers on have a right to pump bilge into the national psyche 24 hours a day.

As for "democracy" in the sense of tyranny of the Jew-manipulated majority -- I think we can all do without that!

Bardamu,

Whatever their motivation for this I still get a kick out of it. Anytime someone gets on to idiots like Hannity it is a good thing. It drives the sycophants nuts.

Hannity and O'Reilly are a disgrace to the Irish. Couldn't think of a worse thing to say about 'em.
