Fox is reporting on their G-Block show (7-30-05) that newly released Army records say that guitarist Jimi Hendrix was kicked-out of the service for being a homosexual and masturbation. Another negro on the "down low."

Was this during Vietnam? It could have been a ploy to get discharged from the army. I wouldn't be surprised either way.

That's the way the writer is spinning it, but knowing what we now know from recent news reports about the prevalence of homosexual sexual activity among supposedly "normal" negro males, it makes one wonder how much pretending Hendrix might have been doing.

I'm not sure how the military authorities at the time defined 'obsessive,' but it must have been something more than the occasional (and private) wank that you'd expect from 18-year olds. Maybe he exposed himself? Or went to it at wildly inappropriate times and places? Who knows.
