HUMAN EVENTS is no stranger to reporting controversial issues, and our authors are used to being disparaged and smeared, but rarely do our authors face threats to their life as has Robert Spencer.
Spencer is the courageous author of the weekly "Jihad Watch" column featured in HUMAN EVENTS and has written several books about Islam and the War on Terror. Since he began writing his column and putting out his books, he has had many death threats such as the one quoted above.
Despite these frequent threats, Spencer continues to write and speak in public. In fact, he will soon be releasing his new book titled The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades).
I am proud to have Robert Spencer on board at HUMAN EVENTS because, since the attacks of 9/11, numerous books have tried to explain the religion in whose name the terrorists acted.
Most of these books strike a common theme: "True" Islam -- as opposed to the hijackers' "extremist" version -- promotes peace, justice, freedom and tolerance.
The problem with this argument is that it is false and therefore dangerous, since it blinds us to the true nature of the enemy we face.
