I have done some thinking on the topic of why whites are so reluctant to face racial difference, racial competition and other related issues. It's almost as if whites are (or were) in the Garden of Eden, prancing about naked amongst racial kin, never having to think too hard about mortality or snakes.
But changing demographics are intruding on that. And for whites to realize that they are, in fact, white, is akin to Adam and Eve discovering their nakedness.
They see that they are naked, and they are disturbed.
