Fade the Butcher posted this at the neoPhora but I'm putting it up here for CIs like 6Killer who might not know about the place yet.
Anyway, it's not good news. I knew they were going to make an example of Lucky and relish doing so, but it appears they're getting ready to shuttle him off to a madhouse, Soviet-style, instead.
Granted Lindstedt has made plenty enemies, literally everywhere he went, but if you think he's innocent of this charge - and I do - then watching 'justice' being applied here is like witnessing a slow-motion car accident. (It goes without saying he's not helping his own cause in the least. But he's been found guilty of nothing, yet treated like a Gitmo suspect anyway. And even Gitmo Arabs have advocates!)
http://www.neoshodailynews.com/articles/2005/07/01/news/news02.txt By BUZZ BALL / Daily News Editor The bizarre, combative and disruptive behavior of Martin "Mad Dog" Lindstedt caused Newton County Associate Circuit Court Judge Kevin Selby to seek a mental evaluation of the Granby self-admitted bigot Thursday afternoon.
Lindstedt, 47, is accused of first degree statutory sodomy. According to a probable cause statement, Lindstedt is accused of inappropriately kissing a young family member on the child's back, buttocks and groin area sometime between March and August 2003.
On Thursday, Selby determined that Lindstedt, who has refused to apply for public defender services, is not entitled to represent himself due to his "combative/disruptive behavior."
During his lengthy "speech" before the court on Thursday, Lindstedt repeatedly said that Selby was unlawfully appointed the judge in the case, that he has never been arraigned and that everything that is accused against him is based on lies.
"But I'll go along with this little circus and I'll accept your little bits of paper," said Lindstedt, sporting only half a beard. "I have no doubt that if you send me to the nut house, you will have people who will declare me nuts. But I will not cooperate at all in this regime. I hate this regime," he also said, contradicting an earlier statement.
Based on his repeated misconduct in court and his bizarre behavior, Judge Selby ordered Newton County Sheriff Ken Copeland to transport Lindstedt to the Department of Mental Health for evaluation.
The court docket stated that the "defendant was unable to focus on the specific issues in this case."
At one time during the hearing, Lindstedt, who was surrounded by several sheriff's deputies, referred to Judge Selby and Sheriff Copeland as "sub-contractors of Satan."
When Lindstedt heard that he was going to receive a mental evaluation, he replied, "how long am I going to be there? Until I hang myself?"
Explaining why he is wearing a beard on only the left side of his face, Lindstedt said it is a sign of him being a pastor in the Church of the Sons of Yahweh.
During the hearing, Selby attempted to advise Lindstedt of the perils of self-representation, but Lindstedt refused to listen to Judge Selby's instruction and was disruptive, including using profanity and making inappropriate comments.
Lindstedt remains in jail on a $100,000 bond.
Since his arrest on May 10, Lindstedt has had a history of vocal outbursts in the courtroom. Just last week, Lindstedt was sentenced to 660 days in the county jail for 22 instances of contempt of court.
A perennial political candidate, Lindstedt has sought a number of local, county and statewide offices over the years as a Libertarian, a member of the Reform Party and as a Republican.
I am sure you recall Colin Ferguson, the Negro mass murderer who specifically targetting non-Blacks on a Long Island commuter railroad. That beast was permitted to represent himself in the court proceedings, yet Martin cannot?
Well its interesting. It appears to me that Martin has decided his legal case is hopeless anyway and has decided to embark on a strategy of disrupting the proceedings, making it very difficult to give him a fair trial, and otherwise taking out his ire on the judge. The judge, after sort of digging himself in a hole in this case by giving him 22 months contempt, is now trying to dig himself out of a hole by turning the case over to shrinks.
I don't know what you can do when a defendent actually doggedly refuses to cooperate in his defense. If heard of cases where the defendent was gagged or ordered to watch the proceedings remotely, but for some reason that is extremely rare it seems these days.
Martin has decided he is going to take out on ire in this pissing contest with the judge and legal system, and is prepared to wager his entire life on the outcome, obviously figuring it isn't worth much anyway. I don't know what to say really. Right now all he has left is his ability to protest, and you know Martin - he'll milk that for all its worth.
And it will be interesting to see what the shrinks conclude. Martin can be pretty maniacal at times we all know that.
Somehow though I wouldn't be surprised to see him find his end in a mental institution in an epic fight, like that between McMurphy and Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cukoos Nest. Don't you think that would fit Lindstedt perfectly? I can see him in the mental ward now
"There had been times when I'd wandered around in a daze for as long as two weeks after a shock treatment, living in that foggy, jumbled blur which is a whole lot like the ragged edge of sleep, that grey zone between light and dark, or between sleeping and waking or living and dying, where you know you're not unconscious any more but don't know yet what day it is or who you are or what's the use of coming back at all - for two weeks. If you don't have a reason to wake up you can loaf around in that grey zone for a long, fuzzy time, or if you want to bad enough I found you can come fighting right out of it..."
Everyone must choose their epitaph. I can see Martin choosing something like that pretty easily.

Martin doesn't help things by shaving half his beard off. What is the appropriate action when a political prisoner is also a mental case? Whatever else he may be, noone can deny his being a wordsmith, a poet of the 'Kwa. :ninja:

I know how lonely it can be on the inside, which is one reason I wrote Martin a 6-page letter last week. If you've led any kind of a decent life, you're already on the liquidate and/or imprison list of one of more federal agencies (Hell, they probably keep track of who subscribes to Chronicles, or even The American Conservative, let alone American Renaissance or National Vanguard), so quit using that excuse and write the poor (innocent, I have no doubt) man a letter! It only costs 37 cents. The bastards want Martin isolated; here's your perfectly legal chance to defy their pernicious will.

Sorry, that Lindstedt guys bonkers. I don't want to be associated with him, and I sure wouldn't want him to have my home address.
