Clerks at the Paris Hermes store must be kicking themselves. Page Six reports that employees of the pricey boutique in France refused to let mega-mogul Oprah Winfrey inside because they did not recognize her at the time. A spy who witnessed Oprah's dismissal said, "Oprah didn't have her hair done. When she tried the door, they refused her entry because they have been 'having a problem with North Africans' lately' and obviously had no clue who she was." Because of the slight, Hermes should not expect their infamous Kelly bag to be featured as one of Oprah's "favorite things" in her yearly Christmas episode.

French Diss: Winfrey Given The Boot In Paris Newspaper Column Says Winfrey Denied Entry To Hermes

CHICAGO -- There are published reports that talk show queen Oprah Winfrey was denied entry into an exclusive Paris boutique.

A source told the New York Post's Page Six column that Winfrey was denied entry into Hermes in Paris. The source said, "when she tried the door, they refused her entry because they have been having trouble with North Africans."
On the Magnificent Mile in Chicago, where Winfrey's daytime talk show is based, several people offered their opinions to television station WMAQ.
"I'm not welcomed -- it feels like -- in the stores," said Meesha Pike. "I have to have my husband with me just ... if I'm going to shop for a Chanel bag or something. The women don't talk to me until I am ready to make the purchase."
"I think it is terribly discriminatory," said Pike's husband, Robert. "I don't know what kind of problems they've had, but to single out someone because of the way they look, Oprah Winfrey or not, I think it is kind of ridiculous."
"She's not well known in Paris," said Sia Gotsis. "She is well known in America."
One man who was strolling along Chicago's Oak Street said he has a friend who works at Hermes -- and said the Post has the story wrong.
"What I heard is they had a party at Hermes and she somehow was able to get in, but they told her she had to go out because this store was not open," said Goran Mikic.
Mikic added that once the workers at Hermes realized who Winfrey was, she was invited back inside.
WMAQ was unable to reach anyone at Hermes to confirm either account, nor was the station able to reach anyone with Winfrey's office.

Hermes doesn't need Oprah to stay in business. And I don't doubt they were having a problem with North Africans. It's why some stores in NYC have locked doors: the clerks have to buzz you in, and only after eyeing you at the door.
I'd like a race-blinded libertarian to explain to me how the market-logical reaction of the Hermes employees is not encompassed with their individual choice affirmation and/or maximization of value blessing.

Now THAT'S funny! Oprah needs to learn that just because she's been pampered for so long here in the US, she can't expect all Whites around the world to give her the royal treatment. France is a White country, and if non-Whites don't like it then they should go back to whatever third-world cesspool they came from. :boxing:
