No Congressional Representation for Illegal Aliens
Congresswoman Proposes Amendment to United States Constitution
WASHINGTON - United States Representative Candice Miller today announced a bold proposal to change the way Congressional Districts are apportioned to the various states. The Congresswoman is calling for an amendment to the United States Constitution to ensure only legal citizens of the United States are counted and considered when Congressional Districts are allocated.
"I find it absolutely outrageous that people who are not in our country legally are having such a profound impact on our political system," Miller said. "Every 10 years the census determines the number of Congressional districts allocated to each state and how those districts are drawn. If we continue to include illegal aliens in that count, we'll allow non-citizens to steal the Congressional voice of Americans. This is about fundamental fairness and the American ideal of `One Man; One Vote."
Congresswoman Miller has formally introduced the proposal on the House floor. It will now be referred to the House Judiciary committee.
Editor's Note - The United States Constitution's 14th amendment specifically requires all "persons" of a state be included. Currently, illegal aliens count as "persons" for this purpose. Congresswoman Miller is proposing to change that language to "citizens". http://candicemiller.house.gov/cgi-data/press/files/151.shtml

Sertorius,
Congresswoman Miller is right. The Illegal Aliens have Congressional Representation, because their numbers are used to make Congressional districts. These districts elect Wetback Congresemen from the large numbers of Mexican who have US citizenship. CA has something like 4 or 5 extra Congressional districts due to it's Illegal Aliens.
But I would rather just repeal the 14th amendment. It was not passed legally anyway.

Yep, you're probably correct. I'm normally against messing with the Constitution for I think that most of those who would do this are too ignorant of the original intent. In this one case I think the congresswoman has an excellent idea of improving a flawed amendment of questionable ratification.

No doubt she'll be labelled a "racist".
Once that "racist" label loses it's sting, we'll probably see some dramatic turnarounds in white socities.

Given recent rulings by the Supreme's "Original Intent" is the one thing they are sure to ignore. But your right amending the verbage to exclude illegal aliens is the right thing and while they are at it eliminate the "Anchor Baby" abuses as well.

But your right amending the verbage to exclude illegal aliens is the right thing and while they are at it eliminate the "Anchor Baby" abuses as well.
If I travel to Italy, I have to pay an IVA tax on anything I buy. Sadly, I do not have a representative in Rome to look out after me. If an Albanian sneaks into Italy, he too, if he buys anything legally, has to pay IVA tax on the purchase. If I stay in Italy illegally after my visa expires, I still have to pay the IVA tax on anything I purchase. I am being taxed, damnit, and I don't get to vote. Tough crap.
So, the tax argument is nonsense, and is the extended idiocy of "taxation without representation" as a soundbyte, not a principle. The probationer is required to discharge obligations if a legal immigrant. For that he gets a green card and a shot at citizenship. If they are illegally here, their attempts to redress a wrong fails immediately due to a lack of clean hands.
