Some people may remember today as "Flag Day". Fewer remember that on this day in 1775 the U.S. Army was officially established. [url]http://www.army.mil/cmh-pg/default.htm[/url] A happy 230th Birthday to it!

I just got back from the VA hospital and they had wall to wall flags, like flowers in a garden......so pretty and it made me so proud.

My dad was Signal Corps, many years ago, one hitch.

All the best wishes of true patriots, Sarge, to the real US Army, the army of Washington and Lt Col Bob Lee, of Patton and Alvin York and Doug MacArthur. And of Col David Hackworth, USA (ret). May their days of honor return once again. On behalf of numerous ancestors, including Father - Capt USA Medical Corps Grandfather - OSS WWII Great-great grandfather - 1st Sgt 95th NY Volunteers, Army of the Potomac. numerous friends - Vietnam vets.
