The events of the last weeks of May deconstructed the '70's There is so much to say on this as a perspective I presume to post a blog on the fantasy/reality connections. A literary pretension. Section 1. Bait/Switch. (Or, The Metaphysics of Head)

“I’m the Guy they called Deep Throat”,   Vanity Fair headlines W.Mark Felt proclaiming

GREAT LINE!

…. snark … smirk. So Deep Throat was a guy. Bait ‘n switch there. In the exquisite porno flick of that name --which is so much more than just a name, it was Linda Lovelace. This art movie took it to the limit, like she did, and the Eagle’s sang about. “One more time.”

 A gender flip-flop pulled off here, substituting Felt’s head for Linda’s.  (And Monica’s, but that lies in the future).  This screws up processing the fantasy canon, but not beyond following.

One core issue here is the metaphysics of head.  Is a Mouth a Mouth a Mouth?  Think before answering.  The gay community is apt to say “hey! ‘cmon!” to hetero hypocrisy on this point.  But that gets hets hot.  Only Security moms and contra women  can like such hot heteros as these.  We’re talking vagina monologues out the other side of Big Micks mouth, Tattoo You.

Given the hanky panky Hoover’s FBI was hosting then, such baiting with female (the ones with the vagina), then switching to males (that is, Baby Boomers with penises) when it comes to head count, is a cunnilingious outrage.  Gilbert and Sullivan has given way to Guckert, Shiavo & Rove cueing up the Janus Anus Rock, lining up generation Z’s comely asses, and lassies, for one last romp before death.  (“Death is a’coming in,  oh yeah, Death is a’comin in… Death is a’comin’in oh yeah, …” sang The Fugs, long ago.  Followed by “Do you like Boobs a Lot?”  “Gotta like Boobs a lot…” on their first  album.)

Deep Throat comes out of hiding to speak “His” identity, and it smacks of a homosexual coming-out, as retrospective composite crystallized out of a enormously huge American group-fantasy complex. From which, his name can be fished out of the historical memory banks of the future as “Hero”. With the help of a lot of spin. Yes, he helped bring down Nixon; and, yes, Tricky Dick as national icon was a joke; but, no, that cannot justify betrayal in retrospect what if

W. Mark Felt was No. 2 at FBI, that strongly signifies he’s a top dog, who got a hard on for the Big Guy’s ass, Itself, and rooked in Woodward and Bernstein to help. Good Jewish boys, all, plus the Washington Post, a kosher barbecue for that sonnafabitch Nixon they prepared. Hero?

[I] Or Janus? The two-sided character in Ron Brown’s Angels and Demons, who is driven to kill the Pope, The Father of the Roman Catholic Church, whom he serves as most trusted son and servant, his camerlengo. Such a twisted act, even if only in a novelist’s tortured imagination, needs to be understood. The basic motive driving him is to cleanse the Church, the Bride of Christ, of the most blasphemous contradiction he has found out about. The Pope, Vicar of Christ on earth, has fathered a child. He does not know that it was not by intercourse, but in vetro fertilization; nor that the child was – himself! With the Church conceived as carrying the highest spiritual bond, which must be kept in scrupulous, intrinsic purity at its summit, or else mock every priest in every parish worldwide by knowledge of the contradiction, he plots with adversaries of the Church, also pagan, to kill the Pope and four Cardinals and set up a new regime. He has visited the crypt of St. Peter, deep underneath the Vatican, to get the Power to do the deeds. In the end you understood his madness, though his role as Janus was not divulged to the reader. “Janus” helps one side, the Dark (scientific research, to the Church) fight the other, the Light , the truthful young police who protect the Pope. In the denoument, there is a violent triangulation, as in the Good, Band and the Ugly, in which he literally flames out in Divine Madness, as the truth comes crushing in from all sides. [/I]

 In its overall aspects, this is the story of Mark Felt. Known to the public only as Woodward and Bernstein’s alleged source of accurate detailed information concerning the Watergate break-in, needed to fuel the Senate investigation, “Deep Throat” became a contrived composite that The Washington Post tossed into the game, as if to secure Ben Bradlee’s place in the history of wrecking Nixon.  Penetration of the Security Code system in Brown’s novel is paralleled by the journalistic cabal’s penetration of Hoover’s FBI.  As the camerlengo, the novel’s Janus, helped his Father’s enemies, for the sake of his Mother, so Vietnam’s Janus, the FBI’s No. 2 man, helped the enemies of his President.  The striking common features are the Janus figure and Father-Mother-Son sex-death psychodynamics (Freud).

Still another fantasy thread vividly vibrates through the current currents of Dan Brown’s anti-Catholic Father world.  This is The Da Vinci Code.  It de-codes pre- and post-Christian symbols embedded in the Holy Grail legend. The pre-Christian strand goes  back to Great Goddess Isis fertility ritual of ancient Egypt…

  1. BACK TO STAR WARS …. -- Whither Darkness?

The conjunction of fantasy and reality in TokenSpace by the signs currently in use in communication is striking. A new metaphysics of boundaries in TokenSpace is required in order to bring in what is happening. The conjunctions of space, time, myth and history unfold in the boundaries to make One Story, a transdimensional solid.

   This was also the week Baby Boomers learned that Darth Vader, father of Luke Skywalker as they learned in “The Empire Strikes Back”, was Anakin (“anykin .. any kin; in German, yederman)  who has gone over to the Dark Side.  These are two huge fantasy “closures” of the 70’s.  Darth Vader and Deep Throat.  One can FEEL their connection, however  acquainted with the movie or post-Vietnam war Watergate politics they are, personally.  The objective connection is in another realm of TokenSpace entirely, transportation thereto supplied shortly,  The deeper the unconscious fantasy associations are pursued, the more they link to events traceable to actual agents, those acting out the fantasies, whether conscious of doing so or not – to be presumed not, or they wouldn’t be doing them.

 The story of the connection between Darth Vader and Deep Throat that can be traced through sign-use connections – inferences from the text, fantasy associations through the tokens – leads to the link between Iraq and Vietnam via  Father-Son sacrifice mythology, in which Luke Skywalker is forced to accept a dark truth about his father’s origin.

  Fantasy and reality collapsing into each other through sign-use generates seismic conscious events in TokenSpace.   Following the associations set off by Star Wars, as if they were dreams and we were Freudian analysts, leads through tokens, not text.  This is important methodologically, though actual cases always show a variety of  both connections. “Following the tokens” is allowing the functions of feeling and intuition to dwell on a given Sign*.  This contrasts with “following the text”, which uses the relations of perception and thought to elaborate the S*.  The paths of association opened up by actual practice establish memory-loops for the future while having a  profound affect on the vibrational background.

In the conversion of Anakin into Darth Vader, director Lucas in effect sacrifices perhaps the finest, clean moment of pre-Reagan group-fantasy, and turns it into a vindication of the Baby Boomer’s Fathers, who called on them to be sacrificed in Vietnam, but many refused.

Thanks for the link to Woodward. It's an excellent illustration of how the press is used and manipulted through their hunger for "the scoop."

HEY, EYES... thanks for taking a look, and the reponse. Woodward =THE creepiest. Its been quite a gig for The Guys.

Yes, the Father-Son-America (as Mother) complex has played out at the personal level, with ("W")"killing" his old man ("aitch") in the way sons do who go further than their Father -- restoring the "family"'s legacy of potency (uh huh), and those of Americans who belong to his "willing coalition".
