Loser flag? Ethnic nationalism is the trend worldwide. How long do you think your precious Union would last if the US military announced it wouldn't fire on any secessionists?
BTW, "so many whites" are not "fascinated" by them. About the only people left in the Klan are FBI informants and alcoholics, not mutually exclusive groups by any means.

All those "super" whites and confederated flags wavers are fighting their wars against the "black", "brown", "yellow" and so on the wrong way .
You cover yourselves all in white and put a white hood over your head or you dress all in cammo and run around like wild mens or you dress all in black leather and have one mean bike and act like a bully.
Let me tell you a little story......back in Italy in WWII someone killed a German General and they found a soldier with a rifle and a hunter with a rifle, the soldier was dress in a uniform and the hunter with old clothing and and holding two dead rabbits, to make the story short.....who do you think killed the general?

I understand your point Ponce, but one does not preclude the other.
Flying the sacred Battle Flag has a psychological draw, the effects of which are certainly important in ways that aren't so easily quantified.

That war was lost, but that does not mean that those who fought were other than honorable or valorous. If you have no relations who served under those colors, I can understand your being mystified for the respect paid to that battle flag, but not the rudeness to those who have a warmer feeling for it.

My family has ancestors that died on both sides of the Civil War, in fact most Southern families do. We have a picture of my great-great-grand Uncle in his Confederate uniform. No one kept the ones of the yankees.
That flag means that we had the spirit of 1776 in us. States rights. The original 13 colonies suceded from GB, so the Confederacy felt it had the right to do the same from the Union.
