**Los Angeles Voters Elect Villaraigosa Mayor; Hahn Out ** May 18 (Bloomberg) -- Los Angeles voters elected Antonio Villaraigosa mayor, giving the second-biggest U.S. city its first Hispanic mayor since 1872 and ousting incumbent James Hahn.
Villaraigosa, a Democrat city councilman, had 59 percent of the votes compared with Hahn's 41 percent at 12:57 a.m., after 99 percent of Los Angeles precincts had reported results, according to the Los Angeles City Clerk's Web site.
The results of this election say it more eloquently than I ever could,'' Villaraigosa, 52, told supporters at a campaign party at the Los Angeles Center Studios downtown. We are all Angelenos tonight.''
Villaraigosa's win puts him in position to execute an agenda that includes attracting more small businesses to Los Angeles by streamlining permit processes and offering tax breaks to companies that move to the city. Hahn's defeat is the first for an incumbent seeking re-election since 1973.
``Antonio has to balance what's doable as mayor and at the same time raise people's hopes,'' said Peter Dreier, a professor of politics at Occidental College in Los Angeles. If Villaraigosa does a good job, it could be a platform for running for higher office, Dreier said.
Hahn spokesman Yusef Robb said the incumbent wouldn't have a statement before morning.
Villaraigosa, a former California Assembly speaker who is married with four children, led in voter polls since the March primary when he received 33 percent of the vote compared with Hahn's 24 percent. Hahn beat Villaraigosa in a runoff in 2001 after trailing in that primary.

"During the height of the fury on Saturday in Baldwin Park, two quotes from our members really stand out in my mind are will be engraved on my Best of... list of quotes for all time!
As the hostility toward us grew to deafening proportions and the Mexican hatemongers began to don ski masks and face-covering bandanas "BornInCali" turned to me and said,
"I will never look at these people the same way again."
A short while later I walked over the other side of our protest line to check on our fearless Georgian (former Soviet State) immigrant, "davidik80" and asked him if we was nervous about us being completely surrounded by this hostile mob. He replied,
"I was not afraid to face Russian tanks in 1989, so I am not afraid of retards."
That was absolutely the most inspiring and classic quote of the day!
You guys are great! "

Specifically, the events occuring around Baldwin park.

Taken in context though, the number of protests, news articles, people involved are all increasing. I will not be suprised to see the protests turn violent sometime this year. California is a tenderbox, just waiting for a spark. It doesnt really matter if that spark comes from either side. If there was a probable time, it would be this summer because thats when most people tend to loose their temper more often along with the temperature rise. As an example, consider the 60's and didnt most of the rioting by the blacks happen in the summer ?

Coincidence. All the orange soda ran out at the same time.

And about time, too. Still, I'm not sure if we'll see sparks this summer. Things are escalating.

Things are heating up in LA. Mexicans and Blacks are starting to fight each other. One black was killed by mexicans today in Corona. This stuff has been in jails/prisons and on school campuses for years. It will eventually spill into the streets.

The sooner the increasingly cocky Mexishits kick off the festivities, the better. Every damn time I trudge to the grocery store, my delicate senses are assaulted by the sight-sound-stench of ugly, spanglish-gibbering beaners and their unruly bean droppings. Virginia looks more like Los An-hel-lees every day, and the muffled rotation-roar emanating from the graves of Washington, Jefferson, Lee & Jackson is becoming unbearable.

In the link, a White man's van was attacked by commie filth.
The thing for this is to have a garden sprayer filled with a strained solution of jalapeno peppers, as well as goggles on so you don't get it on yourself.
You can get a 30 foot sprayer from www.millernurseries.com
Be ready to spray out the windows into the scum. They'll back off.

In the link, a White man's van was attacked by commie filth.
Well, technically, he identifies himself as Jewish, but he definitely has balls. ABC and the ADL came down on him hard a few years ago, and they ran a smear piece on the local news because he objected to Villaraigosa'a anti-Semitic and anti-white views.
After the speech, a driver trying to leave the club was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon after he slowly drove into a crowd blocking a driveway, police said.
Protesters had surrounded the van and "started beating on it," police Lt. David Kivler said.
Two demonstrators were knocked to the ground, Deputy Police Chief K.J. Raney said.
The injured were taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The motorist was identified as Hal Netkin of Van Nuys by Barbara Coe, chairwoman of the California Coalition for Immigration Reform, which sponsored the event.
"They converged onto my car, started banging with their posters and with other objects I'm not sure of," Netkin told KNBC-TV. "I start fearing for my life and so I went through them and some of them had to scatter out of the way."
They arrest Hal? He had no choice. You touch a man's car in that way, and you are guilty of assault & battery. They put him in fear for his life and intended to do so. Even running over (and killing) his assailants would have been legally justifiable. If the people in front of him don't move when he honks his horn, they're accessories to the assault.

mwdallas,
The report I saw said he was released without charges shortly after the arrest.
