Sexual Minorities Ministry
| **Mission Statement** In accord with the gospel values of compassion and love, it is the mission of the Ministry with Lesbian and Gay Catholics, other Sexual Minorities, and their Families to advocate their integration into the full life of the Church, to promote the celebration of their diverse gifts, and to encourage support for their families. **Church Teachings** Read the [url="http://www.fwdioc.org/default.aspx?ID=264&md=67"][color=#0000ff]Catholic Churchââ¬â¢s Teachings[/color][/url] regarding sexuality and homosexual orientation. **Goals** [list] [*]Working with parishes to understand the human and spiritual needs of gay and lesbian Catholics, other sexual minorities and their parents, families and friends. [*]Providing educational materials, video and speaker information for parish staffs and ministries. [*]Meeting with parish staffs, parish councils and ministry leaders to develop a parish response to the needs of gay and lesbian Catholics, and other sexual minorities, their families and friends. [*]Assisting CCD (religious) educators, their volunteers and youth ministers in responding to the special needs of gay and lesbian youth, and other sexual minorities who are at risk of harassment, violence and suicide. [*]Offering support through shared experiences and resources. [*]Directing gay and lesbian Catholics and other sexual minorities to sources, which offer welcome, safety, affirmation and support. [/list]**Evening Prayer Service** In support of the individual spiritual needs of all, we gather on the 4th Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm at the Catholic Renewal Center of North Texas, located at 4503 Bridge Street in Fort Worth, Texas 76103.
