The following is an excerpt from an eight part blog that sadly, gives an example of one white person's lemming-like fall into the abyss of muti-culturism.
Wednesday, March 09, 2005 The Violet Chronicles, part I

I’ve been watching her for a while now, and there’s a name for people who do what she does. Let’s call her “Violet.”

She’s been working at my place of employment for about six months. She’s just out of high school, so between us, we have little motivation for extended conversation. She’s pretty, in a nondescript open-faced sort of way, and has a great Southern accent.

The accent. See, that’s what made me start paying closer attention. Not the accent itself, but the way it sometimes goes away.

There are a handful of Negroes at my job. Ever since I’ve known her, Violet has gravitated toward them, to the exclusion of members of her own race. And when she talks to them, her natural accent goes away. What replaces her usual twang is something along the lines of a BET video host. When she’s talking to her Negro friends, if I close my eyes, I can’t distinguish her from them. There’s plenty of “Aw, gurl! No, you diddn’! I’m all about dat, nomesain?”

And I’ve observed this sort of thing before. People do tend to adopt (consciously or otherwise) the speech patterns and dialects of those with whom they spend ample time. But the horrifying aspect to Violet’s daily interactions is the way in which her entire life seems to be infected with the, well, wigger disease.

Yesterday, Violet was talking to her friends when I walked through the room. She called to me and asked, “Yo, kin I conversate witchoo fo’ a minute?” I walked over and peered into her face and said, “Can you do what with me?
”

This is a great site! Check out some of the author's poetry, as well.

"The Violet Chronicles" are great! (I just finished part VI, and waiting for part VII to oad as I type this). The rest of the blog seems first rate as well. Definitely a candidate for being listed among one Favorite places.
