I Had a Little talk With Terri …

She had seen it all from the other side.

“What do you think?”
“About what?”
“About what they did to your body, keeping the organs alive like that…”

“I wanted to tell mom and dad to let it go.”

“We all did. Why do you think they didn’t?”

“Well you are looking at the evidence right now. Florida’s Republican Senator Mel Martinez’s aide, Darling by name, slipped him a memo about using it – my name, attached to those palpating organs -- for Republican political advantage. “Excites the pro-life base” it said. Imagine. The memo wound up in the hands of Iowa Democrat Senate leader Tom Harken. The U.S. Senate got together to violate the U.S. Constitution by passing a one-person only “Law” (contradiction in terms). After that, all D.C. knew.”

“Is Darling linked to Gukert?”

“Can’t say. Maybe. Finklestein, too, maybe.”

“Oh happy day. Listen, I’m asking again. What do you make of it? Do accept your name, and all you lived for, being passed along and used in this way by Darling Gukert Finklestein Republicans to ‘excite the pro-life base’, as I believe the memo put it?”

….

“They froze you in time as their “little girl”, didn’t they.

….

“You never had anything of your own, did you? The very name they gave you. “Maria Theresa”. Laid a heavy, heavy trip on you to live up to, didn’t it?’

…..

“They never regarded you as independent of themselves, did they Terri?”

….,,,,mmm

“You never really existed as a separate being under your own identity, did you? Isn’t naming you what others will be obliged to think of, by association (mother of God, mother Theresa, Saintliness) putting you in their, not your own, identity?”

………../

Went blank. Then I realized there was no one and nothing to answer these questions anymore. It’s just imagination. I was talking to myself, thinking out loud. As if I were a young man who met her before Michael, and could see …..

Infliction of the TV grotesquerie in her stolen name got the “base” excited, all right. The longer she lay there, the more excited they became. Now, in their excitement, a group of “top conservatives” are taking out after the Bush bro’s shirttails and threatening the judicial branch of government.

Rift emerges in GOP after Schiavo case By Nina J. Easton, Globe Staff | April 9, 2005 WASHINGTON -- Top conservative leaders gathered here a week after Terri Schiavo's death to plot a course of action against the nation's courts, but much of their anger was directed at leading Republicans, exposing an emerging crack between the party's leadership and core supporters on the right.

Considering the fact that it's primarily the legistlative efforts of the potemkin NRLC and "pro-life" governors like George W. Bush that pushed through the charade of "Parental Consent", I should think that most rational individuals would be a little more suspect of what the deathists of the GOP actually are up to.

NONE of the so-called "Parental Consent" bills require even parental notification. (Save Utah's, I believe). Instead, most simply get to a properly-defined Square One (parent=parent) and provide for a host of perks to the abortionists. For example, W's bill in Texas capped damages for offending abortionists, fasttracked the Mommy Magistrate judicial bypass, increased veils of protection for abortionist and their shills and established judicial precedent for court-ordered minor abortions sans notificiation of , much less "consent" by parents.

Of course ... folks who think to chat with Terri Schindler in their dreams and use the transcripts as argument likely are too braindead to catch on and are better off signing a Living Will like a good potential veggie.

*You mean "Schiavo". Latin for "servant" 1. Why should they? Being a good parent means letting them go on their own. I've always believed in sex.
2. Imagination is not dreaming -- unless its unconscious or perverse. Like imagining calling liquified cortical matter "her", as many did.
3. ? she was the veggie. I hope I never am, but forget legalities will you. He came to do away with the law. It's just for sinners.
