I found this test on the net today. Unlike most tests that quiz you about your attitudes towards race, it doesn't just ask you what your attitudes are (which most people will lie about anyway), it tests your reaction times when classifying words or faces into "Good or White"/"Bad or Black" versus "Good or Black"/"Bad or White".
Because your reaction times are faster when the categorisation reflects an in-built prejudice, you can't fake the results to pretend you're not a racist. If this doesn't make sense to you right now take the test and it will become more clear.
This is really cool, I recommend to anyone to give it a go. I found out that I have a "moderate automatic preference for whites relative to blacks". I got my liberal wiggerish housemate to take the test and it turns out he's even more of a racist than I am! PWN3D! :lol:

Click on the link then select "demonstration". You have to click through a few links to get to the page where you choose the test. Choose the "Race IAT" (there are some other ones there as well that I'm going to try out).
The test takes about 5 minutes.
P.S. The main test window on the site appears as a pop-up, so you might have to enable pop-ups temporarily in your settings. I'm using Opera and I've got it set to "Block unwanted pop-ups" and it works fine.
P.P.S. I just had a scary thought. This test could be used as part of a job-selection process to prevent people with politically incorrect attitudes from getting government jobs. However on reflection I think I could fake a non-racist response by deliberately slowing down my response times to the "Good or White"/"Bad or Black" test. The "Good or Black"/"Bad or White" association test is really hard, hehehe...

My result was: Your data suggest a slight automatic preference for White American relative to Black American.
My actual attitude is pretty negative toward people in general, including Whites. I certainly do consider Blacks to be intellectually inferior to Whites on the average, although most Whites are pretty stupid in their own right. But when it comes to which group I feel more comfortable being around, Whites win by a mile. That causes me to question the validity of this test. It was interesting and kind of fun, though.
