I saw this story linked on National Vanguard, where they noted that although it is an AP wire story, it has only been published in one news outlet that they could find. Without further comment ---

Investigation Questions Posted March 7, 2005 3:28pm CHICAGO (AP) An attorney is wondering if police investigating the shooting deaths of the husband and mother of U.S. District Judge Joan Humphrey Lefkow are paying enough attention to the possibility that the slayings are related to the husband's past.

William Spielberger shared office space in downtown Chicago with attorney Michael Lefkow. He says a week after the killings that police haven't taken Lefkow's computer and he doesn't think they've examined many of his files or documents for possible clues.

He says it makes sense to investigate white supremacist Matt Hale and his followers because Hale was convicted of trying to have the judge killed.

But he says attorneys are bound to make some former clients or people they've sued angry and he hopes police are looking into people who might have been angry at Lefkow. http://week.com/morenews/morenews-read.asp?n=7383

a. The Chicago police are totally incompetent. b. The Chicago police aren't trained to do murder investigations. c. The Chicago police do not want to find the real killer(s).

My guess is c.
