Milwaukee: Black Democrats Vandalize Vehicles to Prevent Republicans from Voting

Son of U.S. Congresswoman among those arrested for voting rights-related crime spree, holds rank in bizarre cult advocating extermination of White people.

by Jay White

ON 24 JANUARY 2005 five Kerry-Edwards campaign staffers were arrested for slashing the tires of 25 rental vans hired by the Republican Party to shuttle voters to the polls. If convicted, the suspects face a possible three-and-a-half years and $10,000 fine on each count of criminal damage to property.

Those charged include Michael Pratt, 32, Sowande A. Omokunde, 25, Lewis G. Caldwell, 28, and Lavelle Mohammad, 35, all of Milwaukee; and Justin Howell, 20, of Racine.

Among the Black defendants are the sons of prominent local politicians. Michael Pratt is the son of Marvin Pratt, who became acting mayor of Milwaukee when Mayor John Norquist stepped down in January 2004. Pratt lost the spring mayoral election under allegations of financial shenanigans, denying him the opportunity to be Milwaukee’s first elected Black mayor. Pratt’s wife famously blamed the loss on "White racism," calling Milwaukee "redneck America citifed."

Sowande Omokunde is the son of Gwen Moore, a former state senator who last November became the first Black elected to the U.S. Congress from Wisconsin. The tire-slashing spree took place in the heart of her district — U.S. House District 4.

At the foundation of Moore's campaign was a promise to prevent "voting rights violations." Yet she had 'no comment' when asked to explain her son's apparent desire to prevent elderly and handicapped Republicans from reaching the polls — a civil rights violation.

(Picture: First-term U.S. Rep. Gwen Moore, D-Wis., walks into court with her snickering son Sowande Omokunde, Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, in Milwaukee. Omokunde and four other Democratic activists were charged with slashing the tires of vans rented by Republicans to drive voters and election monitors to the polls on election day last November.)

Sowande Omokunde has lately taken to calling himself "Supreme Solar Allah." It is a title crafted in the unmistakable style of the Nation of Gods and Earths — a.k.a. the Five Percent Nation of Islam. Omokunde holds an official leadership role in the organization.

The Five Percent Nation is a spin-off of the Nation of Islam. The group’s ideology glamorizes Black-on-White, race-based violence and has a powerful influence within the popular hip-hop recording industry.

The Five Percent Nation was founded by Clarence Edward Smith in 1964 and has chapters from coast to coast. Smith, who renamed himself "Clarence 13X" and later "Allah," was a member of the Nation of Islam until he questioned NOI doctrine and was expelled by Malcolm X, chief minister of Elijah Muhammad.

The Five Percenters are known to give themselves titles that include the word "Allah," while females call themselves "Queens" and "Earths." To them "Allah" is an acronym for "Arm-Leg-Leg-Arm-Head."

Smith teaches that Blacks are the "original man" — the divine progenitor of the entire human race and civilization. He also teaches that Blacks are the rightful rulers of the earth, while the White man is the devil incarnate; a soulless biological mutant purged of all humanity that was engineered by a mad African scientist named Yacub some six thousand years ago.

According to group ideology, once a Black male gains an understanding of his personal divine nature he takes his place among the five percent, who are commissioned to save the eighty-five percent enslaved by the evil and deceitful ten percent — the White race and preachers of Christianity and orthodox Islam. And the day will come when The Five Percent will inflict merciless punishment upon the ten percent.

The Five Percent Nation's rapid rise and continued growth can be attributed to having established themselves in the hip-hop recording industry. The list of best-selling, chart-topping rappers championing Five Percent beliefs include Poor Righteous Teachers, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Nas, Busta Rhymes, Brand Nubian, Digable Planets, Wu Tang Clan, Gang Starr, and Da Lench Mob, to name a few. Many common hip-hop expressions come directly from the Five Percenters’ catechism: “Word is bond,” “Break it down,” and “Dropin’ science.”

When Five Percenters rap about White people their language takes an ultra-violent turn. We can look to Da Lench Mob’s song "Goin Bananas" as a typical example of Five Percent ideology set to rhyme and rhythm: "It’s open season on crackers, you know; the morgue will be full of Caucasian John Doe’s.... I make the Riot shit look like a fairy tale.... oh my god, Allah, have mercy; I’m killing them devils because they’re not worthy to walk the earth with the original black man; they must be forgetting; it’s time for Armageddon, and I won’t rest until they’re all dead."

The Five Percenters have established two chapters in Milwaukee. Omokunde’s group is called "Cream City Mentors," a name which itself is reflective of the Five Percent Nation’s practice of renaming geographical locations. In 2002, Omokunde — "Supreme Solar Allah" — was the community coordinator of the chapter, and his colleagues were "Self Wise Allah" (program director), "Universal Knowledge Allah" (youth coordinator), and executive director Charles Dennis. See links for details.

The other Five Percent cell active in Milwaukee meets twice a week on the third floor of the Student Services Building at the taxpayer-supported Milwaukee Area Technical College campus. The cell’s contact person is "Self Kingdom Allah," and the listing actually includes a parenthetical reassurance of the ‘orthodoxy’ of the cell’s ideology to those who might wish to join them for their next study session: "We only teach that the Original man is God, and that the White man is not God but he is Devil."

So the Five Percenters are an organization and not just a black cultural meme, correct?

The arm-leg-leg-arm-head notion has to be the strangest thing I've heard in years.

The ultimate goal of all paganism, Black or White: deifying the man.

(Don't Mormons have sort of similar "the original man is God" doctrines?)

My understanding is that Joseph Smith taught that God used to be a man from another planet.

This is in Smith's King Follet Sermon:
I will go back to the beginning before the world was, to show what kind of a being God is. What sort of a being was God in the beginning? Open your ears and hear, all ye ends of the earth, for I am going to prove it to you by the Bible, and to tell you the designs of God in relation to the human race, and why He interferes with the affairs of man.

God himself. was Once as we are now, and is an exalted man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens! That is the great secret. If the veil were rent today, and the great God who holds this world in its orbit, and who upholds all worlds and all things by His power, was to make himself visible,—I say, if you were to see him today, you would see him like a man in form like yourselves in all the person, image, and very form as a man; for Adam was created in the very fashion, image and likeness of God, and received instruction from, and walked, talked and conversed with Him, as one man talks and communes with another.
I think that's right.

These black cultural memes leave me scratching my head.

I mean, what is one to make of any group that asserts that the Arabic word Allah is actually an English acronym of the words arm-leg-leg-arm-head?

The internal world of a black man or woman must be a very different place than the mental space I occupy.

I've heard that they consider "Bible" to be an acronym for "Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth"

(I've forgotten what their explanation for "Koran" was)

Apparently they also think Islam is an acronym of "I Self Lord And Master", in keeping with their deifying of Man.
