Catholic Activists to Cdl. Mahony: "My Donations Return When You Leave" "20 Years of Scandals is Enough! Cardinal Mahony Must Resign—Now!" Catholic Activists Launch "Collection Basket Strike" in L.A. Archdiocese to Force "World's Most Scandalous Cardinal" Out

ANAHEIM, Ca., Feb. 17 /Christian Wire Service/-- "We urge all Catholics to stop giving money to the world's most scandalous Cardinal," says Kenneth Fisher, Founder and Chairman of Concerned Roman Catholics of America, Inc. (CRCOA). "20 years of homosexual, pedophile and heresy scandals is enough! It's time for Cdl. Roger Mahony to resign."

The Catholic activist group is launching a "collection basket strike" aimed at pressuring Cdl. Mahony out of office. "For years the Cardinal has turned a deaf ear to anguished complaints from lay people and even priests," Fisher stated. "So the people in the pews are now talking in a language he understands—MONEY."

Fisher's group will distribute tens of thousands of small cards for people of the Los Angeles Archdiocese to drop in church collection baskets. The cards list 13 of the worst scandals Cdl. Mahony has been guilty of since he became Archbishop of Los Angeles in 1985.

Members will officially launch the collection basket strike at the Anaheim (CA) Convention Center during their prayerful picketing of Cdl. Mahony's huge Religious Education Congress, which they call "the world's largest dissent-fest," on Saturday, Feb. 19, from 9 a.m. to around 6 p.m. CRCOA invites Catholics and others to help give the cards and other information to people attending the event.

"The Cardinal is bringing in speakers who openly trample on official Catholic teachings," Fisher observed. "He's subjecting Catholics to talks by advocates of abortion, sodomy, homosexual 'marriage,' fornication, ordaining priestesses and homosexuals, occult "New Age' practices, 'dismantling' the Church, defying the Vatican's authority, redefining God, and more. He should stop thumbing his nose at Pope John Paul II and leave office."

The text of CRCOA's collection basket card follows:

My money RETURNS when Cdl. Mahony LEAVES

Dear Pastor, Sadly, I must stop giving to our parish till Cdl. Mahony resigns (I'll give to other apostolates). Since 1985 Cdl. Mahony has promoted homosexuality; advanced and protected priests (and a bishop) who molested and raped children or sodomized teen boys and men; closed our minor and college seminaries; "wreckovated" many churches; wasted $200 million on his syncretist "cathedral"; nearly bankrupted our Archdiocese; aided pro-abortion "Catholic" politicians; let them receive sacrilegious Communions; remained silent as contraception and sterilization emptied our pews; misled hundreds of thousands with heretical Religious Ed Congress speakers; let Hollywood and the pornographers corrupt the world's children; done nothing as sects wooed countless Catholics away; and much, much more. Our crisis is far worse than Boston's. Cdl. Mahony should resign immediately, as Cdl. Law did.

These collection basket cards are FREE from CRCOA, Inc., P.O. Box 8095, Anaheim, CA 92812-8095 (714) 491-2284, crcoa@earthlink.net, www.crcoa.com

Never forget this man Mahoney was one of two bishops (the other was ultra-lib Weakland) who supported Clinton in his decision to bomb Serbia on behalf of Muslim aggressors in Kosovo.

Why was this piece of evil incarnate EVER appointed by JPII to a position of such authority?

It's the "little" things, I guess, which leave me confused and doubtful where JPII is concerned.

A recent fag scandal broke out in a seminary in Austria, and man was he all over that one. But that's near Poland.

Doesn't even think about us, or so it would seem.

Interesting ... that's certainly an angle I've never factored into the mix. Thanks for the lead.
