The same way that a white man confronts a black man and says to him "get lost" all the countries of the world should do the same like Cuba, Iran and N. Korea are doing by telling the US to "get lost"
I you show a weakness to any one who confronts you thats is like giving him permission to assault you.
This can be done at this time sinse the US is weak and don't have the men or equipment to fight any extended battles.
The US armed forces will be getting better personal fighting equipment and a hight raise in pay but this will be done at the expense of the US people.
The US wants to control what is happening world wide (we have people in 176 foreing countries) but we don't have the people to do it with.
While we are dispersing our fighting men, equipment and money world wide The Peoples Republic of China are doing the reverse by getting more raw material and making more friends world wide and at the same time building more ships, subs, tanks and training more men.
In this new world I would disregard (or put to much faith) on tanks or big ships unless they are used as a platform for launching attacks, the reason for this is all the new missiles that are capable in going right by the US defence system (like the Sunburst and the cc-8-s).
The future of the US will be the drones, with those you are able to destroy more enemys targets with less loss of American lives.
Specialize drones with some to destroy tanks and other for aerial fights and to pinpoint and destroy targets on the ground.
The new wars will not be fought like in WWII or Korea but more like in Vietnam and Iraq....... the reason for this is that the world has learned that they cannot fight the US in the open (Iraq 1990) but in mountains, jungles and house to house.
By no means am I a military specialist but it dosen't take someone with a brain to see what is going on.

Sorry, but that's absolutely the worst thing the Iranians could do
If they're smart (and given their history, I suspect they are), they will keep cool while making polite noises and smiley-faces to the US - all the time quietly building up their strength
Arabs may idolize Osama. Iranians don't.

Ahhhhhhh mi amigo, and what do you think China is doing now?
I suspect that Iran already has the bomb and even if they didn't have it they still would win an invasion by the US and their good friend the Jews.
The only way that they would loose would be if the Zionists were to nuke the whole country all at once and that would not sit very well with Russia or China.
The American mentality (like yoiurs) is that the rest of the world are still in the banana republic days, they all have learned their lessons and are now prepared to confront the Americans.
They know that we are weak and won't last long as an invading force, it is time for the US to rereorganise and prepare to defend instead of trying to "liberate" the rest of the world.
At one time we were "the ugly Americans" but are now "the disgusting Americans".
Do you people really think that we have a future? the future of the US is in the hands of our childrens and have you seen what they are now days?
The education system in the US sucks and all that they are doing is teaching our kids how to be drones (like in a bee hive) or workers (like in a ant hill).
Our last line of defence will be our nukes and that will be only for as long as someone else dosen't build their own, but of course is to late now.
If you think that I sound anti imperialist because I am from Cuba then you are wrong because I only call it as I see it.

Austrians sold 800 sniper rifles to Iran; U.S. protests
February 9, 2005, 5:05 PM EST
VIENNA, Austria -- Iran has contracted to buy hundreds of high-powered rifles from an Austrian firm, the company's owner said Wednesday. The sale drew an indirect rebuke from the United States, but Austrian government ministries said no laws were broken.
Wolfgang Fuerlinger, head of Steyr Mannlicher GmbH, confirmed the deal between his company and Iranian authorities and said U.S. Embassy officials had expressed concerns the arms could make their way to Iraq for use against American troops.
He said he could not confirm Austrian media reports that part of the order -- 800 long-range semiautomatic rifles that can penetrate thick metal, along with high-tech snipers' scopes -- was flown to Iran last month.
The United States has strict embargoes in place against Iran on sales of weapons or technology or materials that could be used to make weapons.
President Bush last year named Iran, along with prewar Iraq and North Korea, as a member of "the axis of evil," for its alleged ties to terrorist groups and purported attempts to develop nuclear arms.
U.S. Embassy spokesman Bill Wandlund declined direct comment on the sale but said that in general, "the U.S. opposes all arms transfers to state sponsors of terrorism, including Iran."
Police Maj. Rudolf Gollia, spokesman for the Austrian Interior Ministry, said his ministry, in consultation with the foreign ministry, approved the sales in November. He said Iran had provided written documentation that "the end destination of the weapons is Iran and that they would be used to fight drug-related criminality and to secure the borders of Iran."
Fuehrlinger told The Associated Press that U.S. Embassy officials who recently contacted him expressed concern that at least some of the weapons could end up in Iraq for use by insurgents against American troops and their Iraqi allies.
He described the 12.7 x 99 mm "Steyr 50 HS" as a high-power weapon able to penetrate metal as thick as a man's thumb.
The gun is about 4 feet long, weighs more than 20 pounds and counts as an anti-armor weapon among experts because of the high punch of its projectile, Fuehrlinger said.
He said that U.S. Embassy personnel asked him to stop such sales not only to Iran but to potential customers in other Middle East countries -- something he said he was prepared to consider only if Washington in return lifts restrictions that prevent his company from selling certain high-tech weapons in the United States.
He said he refused requests from the three Embassy officials to discuss details of the sale with Iran. He described the conversation as "very friendly," and said the officials said they would be in contact again soon.
Gollia said the interior and foreign ministries were currently discussing the sale of more such weapons from the same Austrian company to Iran, adding a decision was expected "within the next half year."
He said he had no information on previous shipments from Steyr-Mannlicher, a world-renowned manufacturer of quality precision handguns and rifles.
The opposition Social Democratic party announced it would push for a parliamentary inquiry.

The US were saying the same thing about the weapons that were bought by Venezuela from Russia but nothing to say about the same weapons going to Saudi Arabia also from Russia.
And we don't hear anything that the US is telling the state of Israel about the American weapons from the US going to China.
So, the only time that the "law" is being broken is when the weapons being sold are not sold by the US or the state of Israel.

I'm not sure what Bush is up to in Iran, but I think he's trying to goad them into making some wild and crazy threat or allegation
It'll then be easy to portray the Ayatollahs as unstable madmen who cannot be trusted with advanced weapons, and who must therefore be disarmed...
The Taliban and Saddam both fell for this trick, but I don't think it'll work on the Iranians
These stories about weapons shipments are also interesting in that nobody is even trying to keep them secret
The Iranians are not only arming themselves to the teeth, they're also making absolutely sure everybody else knows they're arming to the teeth

Smart policy. I guess we'll see if "Don't Tread on Me" works as well today as it did 230 years ago.
