I spoke with my dad in Cuba a few minutes ago and besides being 92 and doing great he told me about the deal between Cuba and China.
According to him China will seup the mining of tin with China keeping 49% of the proceeds and Cuba 51% and in 12 to 15 years it will be Cuba's 100%, sure, after China empties all the tin from the mines.
Now Cuba has a new coin that people call The Chavo and is the only legal currency in Cuba, no more dollars.
I was told that at the airport two female departing tourists from Europe wanted to exchange the chavo for money of the country and the government did'n want to do it so the ladies sat down on the floor and told them that they were going nowhere till the were able to exchange their money, they held the plane for 2.5 hours but they did get their exchange of money. I bet you 10 to 1 that they will never return.

There's a price to be paid for someone's help. I don't think Cuba would have agreed to the deal if they thought the tin would run out any time soon.
