While I'm not generally in favor of dishonesty (and surmised this kind of BS was going on all the time), both sides can play at this game. Tell them your son just lost both his feet in Iraq, and thus you'd like to hear an anti-war song.
If you want your local newspaper to print your anti-abortion letter, by the way, it really helps to sign it with a female name....
