Bill Cosby just gave a long speech live on C-Span2. His whole speech was a frank and honest description of black neighborhoods and black schools. He talked about how a MINIMUM of 50% of blacks drop out of schools in black neighborhoods. Blacks beat up blacks who get good grades. Black kids have "really thin bookbags, cause there's no books in them."
He said that the only ambition most kids have in the entire world is to play sports better than white people, but they have no desire to use their brain.

Cosby don't want for blacks to "fit" in but to be "part" of the world and in order to do so he knows that they have to be better educated.

As a black, I can tell you that so far Cosby's message to black America has only partialy sunk in. Many blacks know that the white man isn't responsible for the problems in our communities. Yet thanks to decades of being indoctrinated into the belief that we are a victim class, they only way a lot of blacks know how to react in the face of problems and adversity is to blame others (aka "racism").
Cosby and the black "leadership" represent two long-standing differences about how to deal with the problems of the black community. The "leaders" are concerned with protecting the image of blacks, while Cosby is trying to protect the future of blacks, especially those of the younger generation. But he is still old-fashioned enough to think that others need to take some responsibility for using the opportunities that were gained for them.
What Bill Cosby is talking about is no laughing matter. For me, it is closer to being something to cry about.

Yes, Cosby seems more concerned with blacks being an embarrasement to him rather than if they're good neighbors.

KAMINTA? my best friend is a black single mother of a 14 year old girl, shes a teacher and has an IQ of 148.
Blacks has to learn that no one will give them a silver spoon and they have to get what they want by learning, the excuse that the Jews are using will not work with black because they don't have the lobby that the Jews do have, that is to say, the Jews says "I am a Jew" and the white man will give them anything but if the blacks says " I am black" the white man will say "so what".
I am sorry to see so many blacks in jail for using drugs an I know that is not their fault because many more white are doing the same thing and it is the black that are paying for it, it is the white man who is bringing the durgs into the country and not the black man.
It is time for the black man to stop feeling sorry for himself and start doing something about it and I know that there is always a black man willing to help another black man, is only a matter of creating a chain reaction in order to improve the quality of life of the black man.
No every black man can be a basketball player of a football player earning millions upon millions for playing with a ball.

I empathize totally.
Malcolm X had a great insight when he told the meddling white liberal coed that there's nothing she can do to help. And it's really true. As Malcolm X pointed out, whites distract blacks from looking at themselves and their own problems. And the reverse is also true. Whites have plenty of their own problems that don't get addressed because our leaders can show their magnanimity by muttering a few incantations about how they really care about blacks.
Separation is the way forward for both our races. We've trudged a long, long road together, and separation doesn't mean that we end all relations. Far from it. The United States should and I'm sure will always have a special relationship to whatever black nation finally does emerge from this. God willing. But it will be a relationship of adults and neighbors, not the victim-victimizer relationship we're stuck in now.

Some months back, Bill Cosby's apparent embarrassment over the behavior of amerikan negroes came up on another forum. At that time, I posted these remarks, which seem still applicable:
BEGIN INCLUDED TEXT***
Cosby is one of the tiny handful of intelligent negroes, and he simply can't bring himself to believe that the overwhelming majority of his race is genetically incapable of rising to his level.
Negroes on the White side of the IQ curve are a minuscule minority among their "bruddas," and are a sad, even tragic group. I am reminded of Olaf Stapledon's classic science-fiction novel Sirius, about a dog who has been artificially given human-level intelligence. The human scientist responsible for Sirius' expanded intellect died soon after the dog's birth, leaving him the only intelligent dog in a world full of -- to Sirius' eyes -- brain-dead zombies who look like him but are incapable of thinking like him. Frustrated and alone, Sirius descends into despair, degeneracy and eventual death.
The Bill Cosbys, Duke Ellingtons, Thomas Sowells, et. al. always make me think of Sirius. In spite of what the controlled governmedia would like White amerika to believe, Cosby and his kind are a statistical aberration, rare diamonds in a sea of mud. They are intelligent enough to be deeply disturbed by their isolation, and spend their lives in denial, pretending that all other blacks have to do to be just like them is to buckle down, speak proper English and lay off the crack pipe. But the differences between Harry Belafonte and the Carr Brothers run far deeper than the mere behavioral, and I think that at some deep level, capable blacks like Cosby realize this and are frightened by it.
Another intelligent negro, W.E.B. DuBois, understood these things to some extent, and formulated his doctrine of the "talented tenth." That is, he believed that only ten percent of negroes were bright enough to stand with the White man on equal terms, and that this "talented tenth" should shoulder the responsibility of providing leadership and a good example for the rest of the race (he was never sufficiently honest, however, to doubt that the rest of his race had the capacity to eagerly follow the Tenth's benevolent guidance).
Personally, I think Du Bois was being wildly optimistic with the ten per cent figure, but it didn't matter. He was -- and still is today -- denounced by the black establishment (and its kosher scriptwriters) as an "elitist" and "uncle tom" who was simply being condescending to all those potential African rocket scientists and brain surgeons spitting on street corners across amerika.
Cosby isn't being brave, and he's not exercising some deep insight. He has simply looked half-honestly at his race and recoiled in horror and disgust. He dares not admit to himself -- let alone to the amerikan masses -- that what he sees in the mirror runs far too deep to be corrected by good grammar.

When I was a lad - before the entirety of the news media adopted the NY Times' ideas on race and society as the industry standard - there was a commonly-used phrase one encountered in Northeastern newspapers. It was used to describe the charlatans, mountebanks and worse who made a living by blaming the white man for all the ills of minorities while gorging themselves on the flood of program monies drawn ceaselessly from the taxpayers' well; men (and women) who cried wolf for a living and stood to lose the most from any show of actual initiative from the Victim Classes.
They used to be called, openly, "poverty pimps". Now they're known as "community activists" and are untouchable paragons of virtue. And everytime there's a campus debate on 'reparations', or an inner-city riot in summertime, or a zoo-animal scene like the NBA brawl in Detroit, they let out a sigh of relief, because without black people swimming in a sea of self-inflicted degradation, dust would begin to collect on the cash register.
