1:10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:

1:11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.

1:12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.

1:13 This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

1:14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

My understanding of these scriptures comes from a warning of the coming Apostate church, that has become mainstream religion here in America, today.

All mainstream [Judeo]"Christian" beliefs will fall under the above scriptures as to what we are warned against.

These scriptures define the modern-day congregations of the Judeo-Christian churches now:

2 Timothy 4

  1. I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead [B]at his appearing[/B] [B]and his kingdom[/B];
  2. Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
  3. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; [B]but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers[/B], [I]having itching ears;[/I]
  4. [B]And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, [I]and shall be turned unto fables[/I].[/B]

In those days there was no King in Israel, each man did what was right in his own eyes. Judges 21:25, (and a couple of other places in Judges)
