I've been saying this forever and now it's so obvious that even Yahoo is posting an article about it. The chinese will eat anything. This probably isn't news to most folks here but there might be something you can learn from this link. Hell, when I first saw the pic, I thought, "did someone abandon a dog?". In China, there's no point in trying to have a pet dog or cat. Yeah, the Chinese are so civilized... not.

I believe that this tendency of Orientals to eat almost anything is mostly due to the fact that there are SO MANY PEOPLE concentrated on such small areas - famine is always lurking behind their shoulders.
They have probably been unable to throw away any energy sources.

Yeah, get hungry enough and you'll eat porcupine.
I actually tried woodchuck once. A guy I know killed one in his garden with a shovel and dressed it out. It was some gamey stuff, man. Whoa. I barely got down a bite.
Give me suckling pig roasted on a spit with vegatables on the grill anyday of the week. No porcupine for me, thanks.

Many things that we no does not sound or look natural to the Chinese.
Look at the Jews and the so called Kosha????? they have to dismember an animal alive in order to comply with their religion.
I have had alligator tail, monkey soup, snake, fry ants, dog meat, fry worm and so many more that I can't even mention.
What you eat depends where you were born or what you have to eat in order to stay alive.
At one time I was in a certain place where I had to chew the food which I then place in the mouth of someone else because he was unable to eat on his own , I am glad to say that he did survive.

Alexander Solzhenitsyn's "Gulag Archipelago's" preface opens with a grotesque anecdote: bunch of prisoners near the Kolyma camp in Siberia found in 1949 some fossilized fishes and lizards inside the ice - and they were still so fresh, and prisoners so hungry, that they ate those fossils immediately.

But the chinese act like this here in the US too, Ponce. And since they have so much money(I rarely see poor china men) what's the excuse for eating someone's dog from across the street. I bet the price of these critters in the market is not really competitive with beans and rice. I think this is more a cultural matter than starving people willing to eat anything.

I have also read that the Chinese believe meat tastes better when adrenaline has been released prior to the slaughter. It is therefore common to torture the animal a bit before it is actually killed.
