Elton John Calls Taiwan Media 'Rude, Vile Pigs'

Thu Sep 23, 8:10 AM ET

TAIPEI (Reuters) - British rock star Elton John (news), in Taipei for a concert, swore at reporters who swarmed around him at the airport Thursday and called them "rude, vile pigs."

Wearing a bright blue tracksuit and dark sunglasses, the star shouted expletives as he was mobbed by photographers and TV crew.

"Rude, vile pigs!" he shouted at the reporters at the Chiang Kai Shek airport after he arrived shortly after midnight.

"Do you know what that means? Rude, vile pigs. That's what all of you are."

One of the photographers shouted back: "Why don't you get out of Taiwan?"

John replied: "We'd love to get out of Taiwan if it's full of people like you. Pig! Pig!"

The star, who recently performed in Shanghai and Hong Kong, is scheduled to leave after his first performance in Taiwan on Thursday.

I guess they haven't legalized sodomy in Taiwan yet. They reproduce the 'old-fashioned' way, hence they're 'vile' according to Elton John.

I used to like Elton John back in the mid-70's when I was a kid and before I understood he was into buggery. Oh well.

I think all of us have worked some job where we had to deal with, shall we say, unreasonable customers. It's just part of the job to be nice to these people no matter how rude they are.

Photographers and the press are just part of the job of being a star. And, he gets paid very nicely for his job so at least he could stay civil.

So, a big Pig! Pig! to Elton John. Maybe he was just feeling a little tight because he hadn't been reamed in a while.

I saw it in the news and those people behave like animals,,,,, you can take only so much before you do something.

The deal with the local cops was that they would be there in order to protect him from everyone and they were not there.

When the revolution was over in Cuba I was one of the first ones to march into Havana, back in 59,,,,,,, at first it was great but after ten hours with everyone wanting to touch me and talk with me I almost used my British 303 Jungle Carabine in order to shoot a few people.

I finally went to my uncles house in order to change into civies from my olive green uniform.

Elton is to famous to be able to do the same as I did, public or not he has rights.

Elton John lost it a long time ago. When he lost his trademark falsetto and his band left it was over. Also remember, his butt-buddy Bernie Taupin co-wrote all his best songs anyway. IMHO Billy Joel has it all over him.

William Martin Joel, born May 9, 1949, in The Bronx, NY, grew up in a comfortable Long Island suburb, Levittown, during the years following World War II. His German-born father, Howard Joel, who was imprisoned by the Nazis at Dachau during the war, moved to America after his release, to begin a new life in New York. That new life included adopting a new faith for his son--although Joel Sr. was Jewish, young Billy was raised in a predominately Catholic neighborhood and frequently attended mass and confession.Joel's father secured work as an engineer with General Electric.

*Just thought I'd throw that out for fun! *
Also remember, his butt-buddy Bernie Taupin co-wrote all his best songs anyway.
Yes, Bernie Taupin was the lyricist for Elton and a good one at that, but he wasn't his butt-buddy. They make that clear in the story of Elton John. If he was I don't think they'd even bring it up. Actually the Elton song "Tiny Dancer" was written by Bernie for his new wife.

but if they " had to make it clear " in an official release ?? hmm .. I thought I heard something suggesting that type of relationship many years ago, but then again I could have been just hearing rumour also.

About the last poster on Billy Joel, ain't that great ? I think I'll go play Scenes From an Italian Restaurant right now..
