Like White American Gold Medalist Track Star Jeremy Wariner showing up the favored Black runners by beating them, so goes the US Olympic Basketball team in vice versa. They've just lost to the White Argentinian team and therefore out of Gold Medal contention. The US Team also lost to White team Lithuania. I've been rooting against the US. To have this team represent America is so embarrassing, not because they lost, but because too many "cornrows" in the international spotlight might rub off on some impressionable youth in Hungary and I don't want it to be in the name of my country. America's name and image is already sh*t, but seeing Allen Iverson and LeBron James out on the world Olympic court is pouring salt on the bloody wound.

xmetalhead,

I love it! I love it! I love it!

I am sick of the nonsense about Afros being good at sports.

I didn't waste my time watching the games but could it be that the American team lost because they had to play by the rules this time and not get away with the Harlem Globetrotter antics that pass for basketball today?
I didn't waste my time watching the games but could it be that the American team lost because they had to play by the rules this time and not get away with the Harlem Globetrotter antics that pass for basketball today?
The Argentina player said it pretty well. "They've got better players, but this is not an individual sport, its a team sport".

Really I think the players tried hard, but they've just never had to play real team basketball, and couldn't adjust to it. Of course these days its impossible for NBA coaches to get team basketball anymore. I think they're privately happy if they get through practice without being slugged by one of their prima donna's, like one did not so long ago.

(Oh yeah - did you hear that Puerto Rico player call the our players spoiled prima donna's? )
