I decided, since I used to work with the City of Detroit, to post news stories on the fine examples of black leadership along with some comments from personal experiences or knowlege on these people.

Police report: Woman says Hollowell paid her $60 for sex
August 21, 2004
The woman involved in the prostitution case against Melvin Butch Hollowell told sheriff's deputies he paid her $60 to have oral sex.
Michelle C. Sherman, 31, of Royal Oak told members of a Wayne County Sheriff's Department surveillance squad that Hollowell, 44, picked her up in front of a doughnut shop at Woodward near 7 Mile in Detroit and drove her to a dead-end street.
Hollowell has said he was trying to help a woman in distress.
A police report obtained by the Free Press says deputies ticketed the pair on misdemeanor charges shortly after the incident, confiscated his 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and allowed them to leave.
Hollowell, former chairman of the Democratic Party in Michigan, resigned Friday from newly appointed posts with the John Kerry presidential campaign and the Michigan Civil Rights Commission.
Sherman, questioned separately, said she was working as a prostitute in front of the Dutch Girl Donut Shop when Hollowell picked her up and drove about five blocks to railroad tracks at the dead end of Grixdale near John R. She said Hollowell had her undress and they had oral sex. . She said he gave her three $20 bills, which she gave the deputies, the report says.
The incident happened around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, according to the report.
Hollowell, who lives about a mile from the location, was cited as receiving and admitting another for an act of prostitution, a misdemeanor that carries a maximum penalty of 90 days in jail and a $500 fine. Sherman was ticketed for disorderly conduct for impeding the flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic, a misdemeanor charge often leveled against prostitutes.
They are to be arraigned at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in Detroit's 36th District Court.

Further comments:
I used to live within five miles of this area and passed by the neighborhood on numerous occassions over a 12-year period. Everyone with some sense knows that every female walking along this section of Woodward is a prostitute and that no self-respecting lady in distress would ever be in the area in the first place. Hollowell's story is an obvious lie.
On TV over the weekend, a news crew filmed the area where Hollowell was arrested. Picture a street that dead ends at a railroad track with garbage strewn all over the area. Gang graffiti is on the street and on the trees. Pimps and drug dealers selling whatever people want in an area devoid of occupied housing. Well, except by homeless crackheads.
This is where a nationally prominent negro who was put on the John Kerry's campaign as a legal consultant and recently nominated by the Michigan Democratic governor for a spot on the civil rights commission.
Yet, when he sees a blond hooker walking along the street, his animal instinct clicks onto overdrive and he forgets who he pretends to be.

The one area that the negro will put all of their efforts is in the area of "Human Rights." To the average white man who goes to work every day, such a notion seems to be a waste of time and another way for the negro to sit on his keester. I am now going to post some of my experiences from working within the Human Rights racket. I hope some of you will sit up and take notice.
Part IV - City of Detroit Human Rights Department
On day, late summer of 2002, we had a meeting of all EO22 governmental analysts.
[note: An EO22 analyst is one who tracks the hours worked on a construction project to insure that the general contractors are meeting the goal of 50-percent Detroit residents, 25-percent minority, and 5-percent female employment.]
At the meeting it was announced that there was going to be a "faith-based" job fair and that this job fair was at the request of mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. The whole idea of the job fair was to increase the percentage of Detriot, minority, and female employment within the construction industry.
It was my job, along with the hand full of other analysts to give a list of churches in Detroit that may want to be a part of this job fair. The list of churches to be involved was given to the Department of Human Rights' media specialist Mike Price (black male).
Mr. Price explained to me that in order for an applicant to attend the job fair, he or she must submit all the required documentation at their local church for him to pick up. Then the Human Rights Department would put these names in a database and send invitations to those qualified to attend the job fair.
That was my only involvement until the job fair that was held on a Saturday, late fall 2002. I cannot remember the exact Saturday. I do remember that it was held at the same church on Six Mile where Coleman Young had his funeral and that the Saturday in question was just before Halloween.
My job at the job fair was to assist in the set-up and to help direct the applicants to the various booths set up by various contractors and trade unions.
The one thing that struck me was that all of the applicants were black. Not only that, many of them seemed to know one another. Not one non-black person was there to interview for the various job openings.
If you recall, back in the fall of 2002, the job market was very tight and people of all types would have made the trip down to Detroit for a chance at an apprenticeship in the construction industry that pays over $20.00 and hour.
It was apparent within the first hour of being there, that this whole job fair was a sham. First, because only the "connected" blacks were only invited. Second, the contractors that set up the booths were there under duress (more about that some other time). And third, it was nothing but another photo-op for mayor Kilpatrick.
The mayor showed up 40 minutes late. Rumour had it that he was hung over. Here in Detroit, it is no secret that this mayor likes to party and all one has to do is review the items in the mayor's expense account and take a look at what the taxpayers are reimbursing him for (again, another story). When he finally showed up to give the opening speech, mayor Kilpatrick rambled on and on for nearly 30 minutes about how wonderful it is to have a job fair for his kind and his people.
There was, however, one thing that caught my attention. Recall that this job fair was just prior to the November election where we were to select our new govenor. I will never forget Kwame Kilpatrick's words - "Grandholm is in our back pocket." He actually said this. To bad the news media was not there. Perhaps that is why he was rather candid that morning.
There was one other thing that I learned about that job fair that day. There was only one line that stayed full the entire day and was that last to close up. That line was to sign up black men and women to enter an apprenticeship program within the plumbers and pipefitters union. Hours after all the other contractors and unions packed up and left, the plumbers union was still there taking in as many applicants as possible.
I personally have no first-hand knowledge or evidence. But based on my experience and knowledge of how things are done in the City of Detroit, I believe that the plumbers union cut a deal with the mayor to ensure that all future public contracts with the City of Detroit will mandate the ue of union plumbers (this also includes Water and Sewage Department contracts). To my knowledge, not one City contract has used non-union plumbers since then.
Part II - City of Detroit's Department of Human Rights When I first hired in (August 2001), my supervisor's supervisor, Kim Harris (a black male), was putting the finishing touches on a new certification program. The new certificates were titled, "MBE" (Minority Business Enterprise) and "WBE" (Woman Business Enterprise). In order for a business to qualify, the buiness must be owned and controlled by either minorities or women. Ownership must be at least 51% and the targeted ownership must show that they make ownership decisions for the certified company. In the fall of 2001, the City of Detroit held a roll-out party at the facilities of the Detroit Chamber of Commerce downtown Detroit. (I could be mistaken on the exact organization. We were in the building rights across Woodward from the City County building. The tall white marbled building with the "naked woman" statue along Jefferson Avenue.) This gala affair had in attendance a who's who in the minority set-aside business. Mayor Archer (he was the one who promoted it from the start), Dave Bing (the largest Affirmative Action recipient in Michigan), all of my department from the Director on down, and about 150 hand selected invitees, mostly black. All of the speakers were black, except the one white man who headed the Chamber who gave introductory remarks; and the one token white female business owner who gave a speech on how governmental contracts based on her gender helped make her a success. The black speakers left no doubt as to the real goal of the MBE program - to force governmental entities and corporations to raise their percentage of contracting out to minority (i.e. black) firms. There were no other speakers from any other ethnicity. It was clearly a black affair. The event was televised on the local cable channel and the City of Detroit Human Rights Department has a copy of it at their offices. You will see me on the video near the beginning. You can't miss me, I am one of the very few non-black people in the audience. Look closely, I am bored silly due to a 15 minute long prayer at the beginning by a popular Detroit Baptist preacher.
Part III - City of Detroit Human Rights Department
The Executive Order 22 program at the City of Detroit requires that all contractors receiving governmental funds agree to use a workforce of 50% Detroit residents, 25% minority, and 5% female. As a governmental analyst, it was my job to tally up the work hours and come up with a percentage of the targeted people who have worked on a project. This was the easiest job that I have ever had that paid good money. Now how hard is it to add up total hours worked by: 1) Detroit residents; 2) minorities; 3) females; and 4) other (non-Detroit resident white males)? Yet nearly every project has errors in it and my black co-workers, simply put, were incompetent. On their computers is Microsoft Excel, the foremost spreadsheet program available, and they have virtually no understanding of how to work it. Everything has to be structured so that all they have to do is add up the numbers by hand and insert the totaled number in a cell within the spreadsheet. I understand that we all can make mistakes from time to time, but the more competent employee is the one who can locate the mistake and then move on. Except for me, when all the other workers made a mistake they had to search through months or years of timesheets to find where the mistake was made. Oftentimes, these co-workers of mine would blame the general contractor and have them find where the mistake was made. Once I seen how the others do their "analysis" of EO 22, I immediately developed my own spreadsheet program to track the projects assigned to me. With my accounting experience I developed a workbook with multiple worksheets that was self-reconciling. It worked great. What took the others half a day, I did in 15 minutes each month once the workbook was set up properly. Being a relatively new employee and eager to show my skills for consideration for promotion, I made the mistake of offering my spreadsheets to the other analysts. I say mistake because the blacks in the office took offence that someone with only a few months (what nerve!, a white male!) could come up with something that they haven't thought of themselves. First management set up a meeting with all the EO 22 analyts. In that meeting a commitee was assigned to look over my proposal. At this time I made another mistake - I told them that the spreadsheet is complete and all that needs to be done is to have a general trial. The department decided to assign three people to the project - Sheila, Lisa and I. I had to nominate myself. Sheila at least had some working knowledge of Excel. Lisa was the one who developed the original Excel worksheets that was nothing more than a Word document transferred to Excel. For five weeks, Sheila and Lisa developed their own "improved" worksheets for the EO 22 program. I dropped out after 3 days when it became apparant that these two black women wanted it done not only their way, they also sought to force all the analysts to use their "worksheet." Their real goal was to limit me from making them all look as inefficient as they really were. Since I am not one who likes to work harder (i.e. inefficient) than I have to, I drop the whole idea of passing on a better method to any of my co-workers. To fill in the time saved, I began exploring the internet. Eventually, I became so efficient, that I was spending up to 6 hours a day on the internet to fill in my day after my work was completed for the day. Management decided to reasign me because my co-workers were becoming envious.

The best are when the politician sets his wife, girlfriend or other female relative up as a "minority" contractor...then after taking their cut they sub-contract or act strictly act as a purchasing agent...If you are minority supplier you never touch anything...you the minority take your % and the real supplier provides the contracted material or service.
Nice work if you can get it...
