Bush Defends Terror-Threat Alert

By TERENCE HUNT, AP White House Correspondent WASHINGTON - President Bush (news - web sites) on Friday defended the decision to issue terrorism warnings and tighten security in New York and Washington, saying "the threats we're dealing with are real" even though some of the intelligence on which the government acted was as much as four years old.

Bush said the government had an obligation to tell Americans about the threats, even though some have questioned whether the warnings were politically motivated to strengthen the president's image as commander in chief in an election year.

"When we find out intelligence that is real, that threatens people, I believe we have an obligation as government to share that with people," Bush told a convention of minority journalists. "Imagine what would happen if we didn't share that information with the people in those buildings and something were to happen, then what would you write? What would you say?"

….The threats we're dealing with are real and therefore we must do everything we can to ferret out the truth and follow leads," the president said. "These recent threats, that are becoming more and more enriched, as you're finding out. There was more than one thread-line, threat-line. People are now seeing there was other reasons why we took the action we took."

One notes that this “you’re finding out now” ploy already goes by another name: backfilling. If the question is “what raised the risk?”, the answer can’t be “something we can ferret out for you to discover today,” and to pretend that it is is tacit admission that, labsent such supplement, the acts taken were irrational, impulsive, unjustified.

And the cause of suffering.  This must be kept in the foreground.  Next to an attack. Itself, THANK GOD did not occur, this is the most frightened the public can be made to feel.  It goes over into “life’s destiny” questions and issues people are required to face and deal with, on top of everything else that might be taking place for themselves individually.  As a life-death stimulus, with no defensive acts available in response to, nor any way to remove it, elevation of “threat level” becomes torture, pure and simple.  Same mentality that would pierce the night air at Waco in ’93 with screams of slaughtered rabbits broadcast over the full-volume PA speakers to help the children of Koresh’s compound sleep -- knowing that’s how they would soon go, too; which they did.  Same as flashing pictures of those naked Arab butts in Abu Ghraib CNN had out today, to go with Lynddie’s trial of shame.  (“Now she gets her humiliation,” I think one unfortunate interviewee said)

What is coming into consciousness, like the Titanic being raised, is not just the presidential pathology but that of all for whom he speaks and has spoken.  What this second terror wave has now unleashed on the public, in mythological terms, is the most, most ancient, crocodile hulk with the world on it its back slithered up into the shores of the first sea, it’s that big.  But its little, too, like Tom Thumb (symbol of potency:  Jung)


JUST DOING HIS DUTY


Its not so much that glint in his eye, its where the head of the pea-brained being is focused on.  His rectitude.

The president relates says he feels as an “obligation to tell Americans” about dangers. “We have an obligation as government to share that with people.”

“Obligations” are otherwise known as one’s “duties”, the scrupulous doing of which, Freud discerned early in his career, goes back to learning sphincter control of bowel movement in 2-3 year olds. Big deal back then. Learning how to ‘hold on” and “let go’, at the right time, for the right people wins good guy rewards all around. To do your duty your duty is to take a good dump. Other thing count as well, of course, but that is basic.

The elements of the depth psychological template beginning to break the conscious surface now are these:

-a mentality, or mind-set, driven by paranoid fear of their own terror – the terror in their head, afflicting them with delusions of persecution -- externalized, as if coming from an outside source, constant vigilance sustaining heroic let-your-guard-down-you-die defenses against which is necessary... “This is a dangerous time," Bush said. "I wish it wasn't this way. I wish I wasn't the war president. Who in the heck wants to be a war president? I don't. But this is what came our way. ..." -In classical clinical terms, paranoia is driven by latent homosexual urges, highly excitable by images of male anal rape of other males, prevalent in primitive youth-gangs, “turning them into women” for the hell and sheer power of it. This element in the template brings together the psychodynamics is pre-Oedipal 3-yrd old personality strains, when libido (“pleasure”) is cathected greatly through this generic “down below” place, with later post-Oedipal strains of psychosexual development. These will include quantities of the young boys ‘girlie’-love of “Dad” that went undeveloped, became split off, under repression as “homophobia”, elaborating in unconscious fantasy to return in various forms, the most bizarre of which, surely, was judge Shrebers delusion that “God” came upon him at night, when his guard was down, to engorge him with “volupuositous” passions, downthere, and great ideas, to boot.. Truly weird. It was a form of psychosis he convinced a judge was not a threat to himself or anyone else.

For the Bush boys, and all the Father-Son combos among the neocons, however – and there are plenty – beginning with the Kristols, Podhoretzs, Murdochs, proceeding to Speilbergs,  others – and, of course, all the nascent males of the post Vietnam war “baby boom” generation -- “getting right with Pop” became all the rage, beginning with the ‘80’s.  Ronald Reagan’s swing to rabid anti- communism was, after all, it has been documented, his way of resolving latent rebellionsness against his own..  A generation of Daddy kiss-ups followed.  But what Daddies they were!  Vietnam war vets for Jesus.   These men had a long way to go to get right with the lord, and Oliver North heroically showed them how they could be real men, again by killing Nicaraguans.  
That is the war this terror threat and the mentality behind it have brought home..

They feel they have a “duty” to torture whoever “withholds” from them “information about the enemy”. That is equivalent to refusing to be anally raped. Since that is the only way they have of showing love, however, it means you are are threat. God knows they didn’t want it to be that way. It’s the times. . And the timing. And when the timing is all, its all the time.

Feel softened up, yet?

I had to bring this over from Phora. It nails the two main "f-" word connections associating (mostly unconsciously) in the prez' and his audience's numbskull. Couldn't have invented a better illustration of my thesis of what is controlling America. (group fantasies bsed on feeling like pieces of unborn sh*t)

The President Speaks:

NEWSWEEK reports that President Bush, appearing before a right-to-life rally in Tampa, Florida on June 17, stated: "We must always remember that all human beings begin life as a feces. A feces is a living being in the eyes of God, who has endowed that feces with all of the rights and God-given blessings of any other human being."
