I'm 73 today.

I never exercised in my life, never participated in sports, always led a sedentary life in cockpits.

I avoid vegetables except potato's, and live mostly on meat and gravy. I'm 5'9" and 195 pounds, which is about 20 pounds overweight, according to the "experts" who make the charts.

I smoke 3 strong cigars a day, have a Martini before dinner, Stinger after dinner, and a VO Highball or two in the evening. I'm in good health, normal in all my blood work, and blood pressure.

My only regret is that I didn't take better care of my teeth. I need an upper plate.

Go figure!

Well, I hope when I'm your age, I don't have to worry about any of those things.

By the way, happy birthday.

I'll be 65 in a few months and I am in A-1 shape,,,,,, drink a lot of milk plus my vegies and fuits,,,,, take a 2 mile walk at night,,,,,,,, don't drink, smoke or use drugs or medications,,,,,,, cach the flu or a cold about once every 5 years. I live in the woods of Oregon away from the traffic, smog and pollution.

The only bad thing is that I do eat a lot of sugar but I guess my body is used to it by now.

My dad is 92 and acts like a 21 year old, had his last kid at 69 and all my ucles were past 90 when they went up the hill.

I am aiming for 132 years, nothing special only that I am bored with nothing else to do.

May you live till you are ready to die.

I pray I have a long, healthy life. And, I'll pay more attention to my teeth.

The booze probably keeps away the heart disease! It's probably good to be few pounds over weight. Skinny people just look unhealthy to me.

There are people that will keel over dead at 57 from heart attacks. Bad genes and lots of cigarets, I suppose.

I try to keep healthy. When I was a teen, I would work out regularly. Now I'm working on a big, personal construction project that gives me good workout and it won't be finished for another year or two.

I try to grow a significant amount of produce so I'll have fresh, organic food for my diet. I don't eat a lot of meat. I do a ten-day cleansing fast once per year.

I feel healthy as a horse, but I'll have to get back to you on the longevity thing. In 2080, I'll give you my 100-year health report.

Anyway, from my observation, a "healthy" person should be able to make it to 80 and still be very active and strong. But, after 90, things go south pretty quickly. When you're 73, you might feel like you can make it to 132, but, you're going to need some huge medical breakthroughs to have any quality of life after 100.

If you don't mind me asking, what is it like to know you've lived a long life but you don't have a lot of time left? Do you fear death like you might have when you were 20? I'm traumatized by the thought of needing hospitalization when I'm old. For example, I don't think I could deal with needing heart surgery.

Happy birthday, Ed! Here's to another quarter-century at least!

I'm still a pretty young guy, and I have never had any health problems to speak of (except for one kidney stone). My maternal family is not very long-lived, but all the folks on my dad's side of the family live well into their nineties. I hope I got those genes.

Happy Hacker - I realize death is pretty close. I don't dwell on it, though.

I keep busy with these forums, model airplanes, and my close knit family.

Time passes very quickly now-a-days, for some reason.

I suppose it may be due to the fact that I sleep in a lot lately. I used to rise and shine with the Sun, but now I find myself sleeping like a baby until 9, sometimes 10.

The day goes by in a hurry then, it seems.

If your will is not already set with benefits to your children and others, you might consider a worthy pro-white organization.

Congrats on the birthday!
