Editorial: Another Orange alert "The nation is in Code Orange alert again -- the second-highest level on the five-color warning system adopted by the Department of Homeland Security -- because government officials say there's a credible threat to financial institutions in New York, New Jersey and Washington between now and election day.

"This is no laughing matter but there will be jokes. It is a call for vigilance but some people will yawn. Homeland Security is not supposed to be a partisan matter, but some will see political motivation in the timing of the announcement.

"That's America for you. We seek and find humor in any situation; we sometimes grow bored with routine -- even routine warnings -- and we know politics infects pretty much everything these days. And that's why Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge has a thankless job. If he issues a warning, his motives are questioned. If he issues too many warnings, he is accused of "crying wolf." But heaven help him (and us) if he fails to issue a warning and something happens.

"Repeated warnings can be a nuisance, but there's no alternative. If federal officials perceive what they consider to be viable indicators of terrorist activity, they would be remiss not to raise the color bar. Even then there's no guarantee of success in preventing an attack. As some experts point out, while security can be increased in prime-target areas, smart terrorists will have secondary but still attractive targets -- in Chicago or Atlanta or elsewhere. Furthermore, while the nation has tightened its air traffic security it still has largely unsecured ports and rail transportation systems.

"The fact that the nation hasn't experienced an attack since Sept. 11, 2001, is a blessing. But assuming that there won't be another one is foolish. We ought never live in fear, but we ought never ignore warnings either."

It is your right-wing, neoconservative, Republican little “a”america, indistinguishable from Likudnik Israel, under suicide bomb attack threat. Next thing you know “we” will all be “strong,” and “brave,” like the West Bank Jewish settlers enduring the torture they bring on themselves..

  There is a “catholic” strain in this, also.  Not in the sacral religious sense, but in the functionally derivative style of communication that lets authorities predicate on things which are over the heads of supplicants, but directly concerned with their mortal destiny.

The decision to issue an elevated threat level warning on the basis of the evidence cited can only be called deliberate terror torture. It is torturing people under the authority’s control with terror. The people can do nothing different to comply, nor challenge their right to massively disrupt daily life. They have to “take it”. .

The screaming, over and over, of “We’re under attack! Everybody be afraid! The enemy is behind every door, in every sewer, in every kitchen, in you blood, everywhere in everything,” which this editorial echoes, is certifiable open, flaming paranoid rant. “We’ll pay anything it costs, do anything it takes. Forever.” New York Mayor Bloomberg avows. “This is New York City’s safety we’re talking about.” Putting it up there almost above the rest of America.

The words “open, flaming” are used deliberately for their association with homosexuality. Freud established a link between the delusions of persecution defining paranoia and latent homosexuality. The Persecutor, the One exercizing omni- potent, mysterious, super-dangerous, imminent threat, turns out, in the classical case, to be a “beloved” abuser of the same gender: sometimes real, as in abusive fathers toward sons, sometimes exaggerated in fantasy by bullied and terrified children The present context is a classical case. The form the “terror threat” takes, passed on by/through Mayor Bloomberg, is male anal rape – carried out in reality on Muslim/Arab prisoners at Abu Ghraib; in fantasy, on liberals and whoever opposes Bush’s war as So-help-me-God evil, as I do.

These right-wing, neoconservative, Republican paranoid breeders of “enemies” always threatening to attack “us” are direct and immediate threats to act out male anal rape fantasies at the drop of a hat, or to act out insane inner and outer defenses against fantasized attacks by handsome, manly, strong, forceful males, like Saddam Hussein, Osama bin Laden, al Zarqawi (previously “Chemical Ali” – a CIA set up), Slobodan Milosivic, and the “evil” array of Muslim/Arab pictures shown on playing card decks, reminiscent of the Manchurian Candidate movie with Frank Sinatra. Is this a lovable cast of characters, or what? Apparently (and one mustn’t forget the very, very evil al Queda network, of course).

“What is the message people should be getting, then,” the (female) CNN reporter asked the excited(female) Homeland Security representative, “given that there seems to be no real reason for issuing the all-ought terror threat warning at this particular time?” “To show how barbaric, merciless, ruthless, cold-blooded and detailed the enemy is,” she replied. Hysteria-handling by security moms shown there, aka Bush’s grassroots “Lynddie’s Leash” fan club sistahs. (Remember that song “CONTRA WOMAN”, by The KILDARES, early ’80,s?). Good clips. Pathetic case. Bona fide confabulation, the way people act under the spell of post-hypnotic suggestion (ready to elaborate on snatched, stretched associations, leading back to the grotesque, horrific and imminently threatening, acting out a trauma-imprint).

It was, specifically, male nudity Abu Graib was about: forced sexual humiliations, womens panties on the towelhead’s ears; father and son stripped naked and forced to stare at each other’s genitals for hours, electric prod administered if they looked away. Plus the hoods, dog-threats, treatment of them as dogs on Lynddie’s leash … these and many more shameful, shameful degradations shown even in the pictures of Abu Ghraib made public … evidence the intent to use and abuse them like women, and children, under male fists and violent penetrations. This is a propaganda campaign that must backfire up their backsides. Or (y)ours. Any American citizen who accepts this regime agrees thereby, in so doing, to relinquish their right to defend themselves (in colloquial terms, “their *ss”.) By assenting to live under the editor’s reality as America, they allow their minds, rhetoric, conversation, to be controlled by paranoids seeking perverted. Whoever opens themselves up to that displaying identical inner essence.

Brought perpetually under the control of *ssholes, willing to spend “however much it takes, do whatever is necessary, to protect – or ATTACK (“oops. Sorry. Wrong door.”) -- the safety of everyone in New York City,” said Bloomberg. And the Binghamton editors. Because some paranoid authority “raised the threat level” felt in their anus. In other words, screwing the public, like they have been. Anyone who takes it says “Give me Abu Ghraib, or give me death.” – Tom Paines’ end-game dictum. (yuk yuk. – the editors predicted jokes …its on us.)
