When Spiderman came out, radical leftists cried that there were too many whites in the movie. This time around the streets of NYC are practically 100% black and asian. A complete turnaround from the first movie.

I never heard that before but I'm not surprised. The next movie will change the race of the main characters too. After all, it's been done in Daredevil. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for this as I'm alot more aware of this than before when it comes to this sort of thing happening in films and television. BTW, did you guys hear about the nutcase complaining about Lord of the Rings not having enough non-whites?

Yes, the radical left bitched about LOTR. Fortunately since all three were filmed at the same time, there was no way to add blacks to the sequels.

Obviously, it is sad when Hollywood sacrifies realism for the sake of political correctness. But, in general, I have no objection to seeing some non-whites faces on the screen. What I object to are items such as:
the endless 'black man, white woman' pairings
the semi-endless 'Jewish male, Gentile female' pairings
the tendency to show black men but not black women (particularly as main characters)
the general over-featuring of interracial couples
'affirmative action' in casting decisions (e.g., for scientists, other smart people)
the over-featuring of interracial friendships and similar relationships.
In short: Spike Lee & LOLR good, Denzel Washington & Julia Styles bad.

Still haven't seen Spiderman 2 but I seen a commercial that described what heritagelost is talking about. As for what I don't like in the "entertainment" industry in general is the way they portray lack of realism of race behavior in general. They'll show white "gang bangers" and "honest, hard working nigros" being assaulted. It's in commercials too. Darkie good, whitie bad. Just see any ad on TV. It's brainwashing pure and simple.

I saw it. Yes, Spidey saves an Asian child from a burning building. An Asian street musician plays the "Spiderman song" on a violin. There are African-Americans in small roles. But the fact is, there really are non-Whites in NYC. That said, I would still recommend this movie. The hero is White. His main love interest is White. His professor is White. The two main villians -- Harry Osborne, and Doc Ock (Alfred Molina is a British citizen of Spanish-Italian descent) -- are White. There is a scene where Spiderman takes on some White thugs, but it was brief. I say Spiderman 2 is an entertaining way to waste 2 hours on a Saturday afternoon. I was not offended by it -- and I'm an evil racist. :)
and I also enjoyed the fact that Mary Jane Watson was starring in a production of The Importance Of Being Earnest.
