May 20, 2004 ââ¬â The American bald eagle will probably be removed from the threatened species list by the end of the year, according to news reports. The bird, the only eagle specific to North America, has recovered so strongly from the brink of extinction in the wild 40 years ago that only two states ââ¬â Vermont and Rhode Island ââ¬â don't have breeding pairs.
There were 7,678 nesting pairs in the country in 2003, according to official numbers.

They'll be on the endangered list again alright. Because just like every other animal or living thing, the chinese will want to eat them. Sadly, this isn't a joke.

7000 is not very many. Does anyone think this is has anything to do with erasing or demonizing western civilization. Many European countries used the eagle, including the Germans, in their symbols that the eternal corrupters consider so terrible. They have been a symbol of national pride and freedom for a long time. Perhaps they would be happy to see them die off.
Also, I know they require a huge amounts of non human occupied space or they will abandon their nests. Need to make room for more illegals. Perhaps a connection to the environmental groups being taken over by the anti-border crowd.

I hope they continue to recover. True conservatives are conservationists. Believing in 40-acre parking lots, mammoth cities, and endless strip malls is a form of radicalism (and a spiritual sickness).

Unfortunatly, the country that was symbolized by the Bald Eagle is long gone.
Perhaps, a better symbol for our rapidly appraching third world cesspool would be a chicken, or the dodo bird.
