I wonder how much longer it will take Rumsfeld and the other geniuses to realize itôs over?!
Car bomb kills head of Governing Council
The Associated Press Updated: 1:31 p.m. ET May 17, 2004
BAGHDAD, Iraq - The head of the Iraqi Governing Council was killed in a suicide car bombing near a U.S. checkpoint in central Baghdad on Monday, dealing a blow to U.S. efforts to stabilize Iraq ahead of a handover of sovereignty on June 30.
Abdel-Zahraa Othman, also known as Izzadine Saleem, was the second and highest-ranking member of the U.S.-appointed council to be assassinated. He was among nine Iraqis, including the bomber, who were killed, Iraqi officials said.
U.S. Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt, a spokesman for the U.S. military in Baghdad, said the car bomber had been waiting in a line of vehicles at a checkpoint outside the main Baghdad headquarters of the U.S.-led administration.
L. Paul Bremer, the U.S. administrator of Iraq, called the killing a “shocking and tragic loss.”
“The terrorists who are seeking to destroy Iraq have struck a cruel blow with this vile act today,” he said. “But they will be defeated ... The Iraqi people will ensure that his vision of a democratic, free and prosperous Iraq will become a reality.”
The White House vowed that the assassination would not delay the June 30 transfer of power from the U.S.-led coalition to an interim Iraqi government.
“That’s what the enemies of freedom want and they will not prevail,” said White House spokesman Scott McClellan.
Previously unknown group claims responsibility An Iraqi resistance group said two of its members carried out the attack, an Islamic Web site said.
"Two hero members of the ’Arab Resistance Group-al-Rashid Brigades’ ... carried out the heroic operation which led to the death of the mercenary traitor Izzedin Salim," said a statement posted on the site.
The bombers were identified as Ali Khaled al-Jabouri and Mohammed Hassan al-Samarrai.
"The Brigades promise our nation’s people that they will fight until the liberation of Iraq and Palestine," the statement said.
It was not clear if the Rashid Brigades has previously claimed any attacks against the U.S.-occupying forces or the U.S.-backed Iraqi authorities.
The council president’s position rotates monthly. Saleem’s death occurred about six weeks before the United States plans to transfer power to Iraqis and underscored the risks facing those perceived as owing their positions to the Americans. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4899904/

Gasp!! (sarcasm) Haven't you heard? They found a 14 year old, and fairly useless, 155mm round that tested positive for a Bush buzzword" Sarin gas".
Now, the Bush liars are saying they have only just begun to search for WMD and there are hundreds of sites yet to search. This WMD discovery is only the beginning of justification for the Iraq mess. (they promise) The thing is, everybody is on to Bush and the neocons now. What can we expect from anyone who claims moral superiority and has his soldiers sexually molesting prisoners because his reelection depends on success in Iraq?
Of course, the Army at the scene says it wasn't that big a deal and that the folks who planted it probably had no idea of it's history. The question the neocons aren't asking is how many weird coincidences does this make for Bush. Jessica Lynch just happened to get resecued when he needed it. Hussein got nabbed at another low point ( I think when WMD searc clearly turned to crap). Bush always saves, or creates, little miracles for when he needs them. Lately, his desperation involves the Berg beheading (immediately after the prison scandal...that happens to lead to the Oval Office), and now this shell...immediately after a key player in the Iraqi council gets dusted entering the most secure area of Iraq. Bush's backyard in Iraq. His enemy walked right up to his Iraq backdoor and took a shit.
But, all is well. They found a 14 year old shell left over from the Iraq/Iran war...which the sadistic/hypocritical neocons helped support, making sure none of the shells said made in USA. We can't kid ourselves. This election is a referendum on Bush. The only chance of any diginity left for the US is to send this clown and his bunch of sickos packing. Man, the founding fathers and those who sacrificed so much to build the US deserve better than this.

It looks like they've finally decided to plant evidence of WMD.
There's a serious backlash building, so they have to do something, lest Joe Sixpack and Sally Soccer Mom put two and two together.

It's over, whether these lunatics wish to acknowledge it or not. I don't think the War for Jews and Oil is going to last much longer despite their most demented efforts to keep it going.

Don't rule out Mossad/CIA pulling another 911 if their phoney WMD evidence fails to turn things around.
Remember who we're dealing with Sert.
