Finally, an honest leftist has pointed out what we've all known for years; Bush is NOT a conservative in any way, shape or form (despite his not being a liberal - apparently, it turns out there really are more than two political tendencies in this nation). I think its extremely important that we emphasize over and over how Bush's policies are the very antithesis of conservatism, else all those on the right may take part of the blame for the folly of the neo-"conservatives." Its difficult to get that message out, however, when everyone on the left describes the neo-cons as being on "the radical right" or as "ultraconservatives." Its nice to see one of them admit that's not true.

That article is excellent. I'm printing it out. It proves that there still IS a somewhat reliable definition of conservative...and Bush ain't it. I think the reason Bush doesn't fit a profile is because he has no beliefs...just a corrupt, spoiled rich kid whose father bought the US Presidency for him.
