I've noticed that the when I read articles from major news sources (which the government uses their press passes to blackmail into only reporting offical pentagon war news) that when a major battle goes down, the initial story will be something like "today at least two marines were killed and 200 Iraqis died as a result of the fighting." Then a week later when there have been a few quiet days without deaths it's "today the pentagon comfirmed more deaths from last weeks battle, while hospitals and morgues report that most Iraqis killed were women and children."
Today I was really shocked. There haven't been any major battles and the pentagon is pretending like Naja and Falluhja are under control so they decided it was safe to drop this bomb. "Almost 600 US soldiers wounded so far this April. So we got 100 dead, 600 wounded, numerous "security contractors" (which is the pentagons' way of saying "merc") dead, numerous civillian engineers dead, numerous allied soldiers dead.
As far as wars go, this is a pretty tiny death toll. But then again, we only have less than 150,000 coalition soldiers, which is pretty low. However the real disaster is the fact the civillian companies are giving up hundreds of millions and pulling their employees. Halliburton (aka Cheneys War Profiteering racket) is refusing to deliver their $3 a gallon oil to certain locations. Several allies are pulling out, with more holding firm to their promises of early exists. No one is responding to Bushs' call for more troops except Albania with their 75 man joke battalian.
Armed militia's control the inner cities of at least two major cities, and the average joe six pack can't possible still believe that militia's represent "tiny minorities." (Then again the average America is dumb as shit!)
Also, the high re-enlistment rate for the US army is a Pentagon propaganda victory, but misleading. The real reason so many are re-enlisting because the Army and Navy attract such low quality people to begin with. For much of the re-enlistees, it's either re-enlist of work at McDonalds for minimum wage.
My cousin just got back from Iraq right before Christmas and he couldn't wait to get out. He joined the Army to pay for college and got the same degree I have, BS in Computer Engineering. He said the Army completely wasted his talents and had him working as a teamster for Haliburton over in Iraq. Since he has better prospect in the US, he was eager to get out.
A year ago, I dated a girl who's father was general stationed in Germany. She told me horror stories about the rank and file US troops. In her army base high school graduation class of 25, 6 people had AIDS! Numerous US army personel were arrested for selling drugs and gang violence in Germany. She also told me that the Army base was full of interacial couples, which is an obvious sign that the US military has a lot of real scumy people.
