Freepers on Bushie Treason.
The Assault Weapons Ban May Be Bush's Undoing http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1086488/posts

Some of the more deluded of the Freepers find comfort by reassuring themselves that Bush doesn't really support the Assault Weapons Ban. They don't want to accept the truth that neither presidential candidate is on their side on this issue.
On a related note, it really irks me when supposedly pro-gun people say stuff like this:
STOP THE SABER RATTLING -- NOW! Avoid those shrill folks who sound threatening or talk about doomsday. It's a waste of your time. These noisy folks remind me of a couple in a failing marriage who only talk about a getting a divorce instead of talking about their real problems. If they don't solve their problems, separation or divorce becomes the inevitable outcome. Some people get pumped up on silly fantasy scenarios. I do not. I can't stand smart-ass, "oh-so-sensible" types who think like the author of the preceding statement. Why do such people even own fighting rifles, anyway? What do they intend to do if combat-worthy weapons are outlawed? The jackass who wrote the above quote sounds exactly like someone who will dutifully turn his weapons in when ordered to do so, like all the other good shee...er, citizens out there. What a joke! Of course an armed revolt is a "silly fantasy scenario" for cowards of that ilk, but some of us will no more give up our weapons to jack-booted thugs than we would let them screw our virgin daughters. When word goes out that confiscations are taking place, some of us won't just sit in our houses and wait for the thugs to arrive. Some of us will take the fight to the enemy, hitting them hard and then escaping.
Now I still do concern myself with gun legislation, since I'd rather not have to kill anyone else or put myself in any danger. But the attitude that more gun owners need to have is that we WILL keep our gun rights, even if we have to kill and possibly be killed to do so.

Angler,
I think gun owners need to be more like abortionist. I mean they are always waving coat hangers around at rallies. They always they don't care what law it is it is they claim a "Right" to kill their unborn babies. I would like to see gun owners waving sten bolts around rallies and say it is still a paper wieght for now. The head of N.O.W. always tells us, that they will still kill their unborn babies, with coat hangers it abortion is outlawed; why can not the head of the N.R.A. say we will not submit to Marxist gun laws.

I still think that the relatively placid submission by Southerners to forced integration 40-50 years ago is the strongest indication that Americans, in general, consider obeying "the law" to be more important than anything, even than their children's welfare. So I expect at least 90% of tough talking gun owners to surrender those weapons they would never use any way, as soon as "the law" requires them to do so. As we see on FR, some have already lost even the verbal insistance, in favor of what they think is sophisticated reality.
Those few who will keep their guns, and those fewer who will use them to defend themselves, will not only face the "authorities", but also the wrath of angry and envious submitters.
Faust, don't expect the NRA to do anything that their political foes would label 'outrageous'. Sticks and stones won't break their bones, but words will.

No doubt, if the parents can submit to the state forcing the apes onto their children, they will certainly give up their arms.
