The "old south" is fading away faster every day. Its not just immigration that is killing it, but also includes urban sprawl and changing attitudes. Mass media is indoctrinating our younger generation. On it goes, most of which need not be repeated here.

I wonder sometimes if Scottland went through a similar phase during its several hundred years of rule by the British. From what little i know of the history of Scottland, ive read that at times, those interested in restoring the independence of Scottland seemed to be alone and few in numbers. A few weeks ago, i was watching a history channel episode on Scottland and it noted that the timing of the resurgence of Scottish nationalisim was happening about the same time as mel gibson's movie "Braveheart".

Will Dixie die the slow death ? Only if people let it. With each passing day a little more control slips through our fingers.

Personally, ive met many people from northern states that share many of my opinions on cultural issues. However, Dixie can not long survive the onslaught it currently faces. Some would say that it is already dead and has been since the war. Never say never.
