The self-proclaimed leading authority on income taxes in the nation was named in a 33-count federal indictment released Wednesday charging conspiracy, tax evasion and aiding and abetting in the filing of false income tax returns.
Irwin Schiff, a 76-year-old Las Vegas man who federal officials allege has been running a tax scam that has cost the government an estimated $56 million, called the charges ridiculous when reached at Freedom Books, his East Sahara Avenue bookstore.
"This is nonsense," Schiff said. "They ................... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I met Schiff. I was flying a B-707 DEN JFK. Pushed back on sched., and I noticed a sad looking fellow standing in the Jetway entrance.
He looked like he needed help. I told the crew to stop the push, go back to the gate, and pick him up.
He was very gratefull. When he deplaned, he waited for me and thanked me profusely, gave me an autographed book "HOW ANYONE CAN STOP PAYING INCOME TAXES", and an offer to attend any of his seminars, free.

If you don't file or file claiming to have no income, the IRS will do your Tax Return for you and then bill you. If you don't pay, they'll come and take your property, or worse. It doesn't matter what the law is. They have bigger guns than you and that's what matters.
There are many legal, and IRS accepted, ways to lower your taxes. BTW, being a DINK isn't one of them.
