Concerning Two U.S. Memorials

The U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum opened in April 1993. It is a large, multi-story building in Washington, DC.[1]

The National World War II Memorial will open in May 2004 in Washington, DC. Eleven years after the Holocaust museum opened. [2]

The Holocaust did not happen in America, yet the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum opened in America years before the memorial to the soldiers who defeated Nazi Germany and liberated some of the German-run concentration camps.

I'd rather see a Slavery Museum than a Holocaust Museum. I have a grand-Uncle who died on the beaches of Normandy. For what, I ask you?
