SYDNEY, Australia -- Osama bin Laden's terror network claims to have bought ready-made nuclear weapons on the black market in Central Asia, the biographer of al-Qaida's No. 2 leader was quoted as telling an Australian television station.

In an interview scheduled to be televised Monday, Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir said Ayman al-Zawahri claimed that "smart briefcase bombs" were available on the black market. It was not clear when the interview between Mir and al-Zawahri took place.

U.S. intelligence agencies have long believed that al-Qaida attempted to acquire a nuclear device on the black market, but say there is no evidence it was successful.

In the interview with Australian Broadcasting Corp. television, parts of which were released Sunday, Mir recalled telling al-Zawahri it was difficult to believe that al-Qaida had nuclear weapons when the terror network didn't have the equipment to maintain or use them.

"Dr. Ayman al-Zawahri laughed and he said 'Mr. Mir, if you have $30 million, go to the black market in Central Asia, contact any disgruntled Soviet scientist, and a lot of ... smart briefcase bombs are available,'" Mir said in the interview.

"They have contacted us, we sent our people to Moscow, to Tashkent, to other Central Asian states; they negotiated, and we purchased some suitcase bombs," Mir quoted al-Zawahri as saying.

Al-Qaida has never hidden its interest in acquiring nuclear weapons.

The U.S. federal indictment of bin Laden charges that as far back as 1992 he "and others known and unknown, made efforts to obtain the components of nuclear weapons."

Bin Laden, in a November 2001 interview with a Pakistani journalist, boasted having hidden such components "as a deterrent." And in 1998, a Russian nuclear weapons design expert was investigated for allegedly working with bin Laden's Taliban allies.

It was revealed in February that Pakistan's top nuclear scientist had sold sensitive equipment and nuclear technology to Iran, Libya and North Korea, fueling fears the information could have also fallen into the hands of terrorists.

Earlier, Mir told Australian media that al-Zawahri also claimed to have visited Australia to recruit militants and collect funds.

"In those days, in early 1996, he was on a mission to organize his network all over the world," Mir was quoted as saying. "He told me he stopped for a while in Darwin [in northern Australia], he was ... looking for help and collecting funds."

Australia's Attorney-General Philip Ruddock said the government could not rule out the possibility that al-Zawahri visited Australia in the 1990s under a different name.

"Under his own name or any known alias he hasn't traveled to Australia," Ruddock told reporters Saturday. "That doesn't mean to say that he may not have come under some other false documentation, or some other alias that's not known to us."

Mir described al-Zawahri as "the real brain behind Osama bin Laden."

"He is the real strategist, Osama bin Laden is only a front man," Mir was quoted as saying during the interview. "I think he is more dangerous than bin Laden."

Al-Zawahri -- an Egyptian surgeon -- is believed to be hiding in the rugged region around the Pakistan-Afghan border where U.S. and Pakistani troops are conducting a major operation against Taliban and al-Qaida forces.

I suspect that Al Queda is lying about having a briefcase bomb at present, but clearly they want one and have the means to get one as soon as one would be available. And one is all it takes.

I talked this over with Mrs. Yannis, and we've agreed to begin selling our real property located in our large city and use the proceeds to buy a couple of other properties in a much smaller city and to improve our mountain top hideaway. I hope to have this done by the end of the year, if not sooner. Real estate prices are up, too, especially in the big cities, so it's not a bad time. I'm liquidating and repositioning. I'm leaving my current position, too, and moving to a smaller city. I'm taking this very seriously.

It's time, folks. The next couple of years will see a major terrorist attack on a major world city. New York, Chicago, Moscow, Paris, London, Los Angeles - each is a potential target.

I don't know where, but there's going to be a big bang someplace in the not-too-distant future, may a Merciful God grant that I'll be proven wrong.

Get ready.

Walter

Once again, millions will die so that Jewish gold and power may live one more day.The yellow, brown and even the blacks - even the blacks! - will recognize this plain as day if they don't already; only the white man, about to lose the little he hasn't already pissed away, will continue to charge into the charnel-house with his blinders tightly in place.

You truly have to wonder, if the last two races left alive on Earth were Jews and Aryans, how long it would take the Jews to convince the Aryans to commit suicide.

It's a lie. The jihadists have anounced in their manifestos that they will use "psychological warfare" techniques, including false threats and exagerated claims to keep the infidels in fear. If they had such a device, we would find out when it detonated and not a moment sooner.

I agree that they're probably lying, but the point is that since we won't know for sure until after we're vaporized, we need to get away from ground zero now.

At least, that's my plan.

The technology is getting old now. And new kinds of bombs with unforseen effects can at any time emerge, in the hi-tech world that we live in. Well, when they show up, and in time one has to calculate they will, one can assume the damage will be done to Israel, and if USA is attacked, the Jewish neighbourhoods will most likely be the ones targeted.

The thing is, someone has a suitcase nuke out there, and I don't mean the false flag, the red herring himself, Monsieur Al Q. Ida. The media is warming up the sheep to the coming catastrophe. I would never put it past certain governments to kill their own people to reach political objectives. It's been done in the past and it will be done in the future. Pearl Harbor, 9/11, USS Liberty, USS Maine etc. God help us all!

Yeah, I fear you might be right. Maybe not a briefcase nuke, but I think a big dirty bomb or some horrible biological thing is possible.

Listen, guys, I'm serious as a heart attack about GETTING THE F*&K OUT OF LARGE CITIES. If you live in one like me, make other plans and move out with all deliberate speed.

I don't think it will happen for a few months (I suspect - although I certainly could be wrong - that it will be timed to wreak maximum havoc on the November elections). So, I'm not going to panic or anything. But I am getting liquid and getting small. Get ahead of the curve on this one, folks. We've been talking about the Big One for a long time now, and maybe this is it.

Walter

P.S. - I just fell deeply in love with the girl on your tagline.

Walter, I agree, totally. I live in the biggest city in the US. Not only are my wife and I eager to get out of the city, but possibly the COUNTRY! If we tune into the media with discernement, we can also pick out the messages that might enlighten us as to what the FedGov has in store for the future. Most recently is the Gen. Tommy Franks statement that, to paraphrase it, if the US suffers another massive terrorist attack, martial law will be the LAW, and the Constitution will become null and void. As we know, once the FedGov puts a law into effect, it rarely, if ever, is repealed. Just look at NAFTA. That policy played it's part in ruining America, but it's still with us. My wife and I have been working out scenarios and following leads that hopefully will enable us to escape the US in a short time. Itz definitely coming. Sadly, the sheeple are way, way behind us Walter.

I agree with your assessment. If "al Qaeda" or the "jihadi's" or "terrorists" (whatever you want to call them) really possessed serious bombs, they would have used them by now because since 9/11 we have invaded Afghanistan and Iraq. The "terrorists" would undoubtedly have used those occassions to launch an attack if they really did possess briefcase bombs.

I remember reading a while back that a Congressman was concerned because around the fall of the USSR, Russia had about 200 suitcase bombs. Today, they can only account for about 100 of them. Where are the ones that are missing?

Aren't all the stories published in The Onion bogus??

Anyway, what's the reason that the media pushes the meme of "suitcase nukes" anyway? Are they prepping the masses for the real thing or just scaring everyone to accept tyranny?

But then again, it's Clip Art. My point is that the girl is a member of our race, but then again, I've seen this used for advertisements everywhere on the net.

I did not mean to imply that she was actually available on a dating site.

"Suitcase nukes" are in many cases triggers for larger thermonukes. Additionally, they have a fairly short shelf life, and after 4-5 years would be useless for anything except a TNT-fired dirty bomb. So if a real nuke of any substance is triggered in a major U.S. city, it will almost certainly be manufactured, maintained and delivered by a state with the capability, stealth and motive to do so.

Anyone heard from Mordechai Vanunu lately?

If Americans were more perceptive, 9/11 would have been a signal for a 'smash the zhid' campaign.

'Nuke Isreal' was the first thought that came to my mind after seeing the towers crash down.

Likewise, what's the probability that the inept Arabs were able on their own to execute flawlessly such a feat as 9/11?
