Church jury acquits Methodist gay pastor

BOTHELL, Wash. -- A lesbian Methodist pastor will be allowed to continue her ministry after she was acquitted Saturday in a church trial over her sexual orientation.
A jury of 13 pastors ruled in favor of the Rev. Karen Dammann, 47, who disclosed three years ago that she was in a homosexual relationship.
Church law prohibits the ordination of self-avowed, practicing homosexuals and the church's Book of Discipline declares homosexuality to be "incompatible to Christian teachings." But the church's social principles support gay rights and liberties.
Dammann is currently on leave as pastor of First United Methodist Church in Ellensburg, 95 miles east of Seattle. Last week she married her partner of nine years, Meredith Savage, in Portland, Ore., where officials began allowing gay marriages earlier this month. They have a 5-year-old son.
The ruling means Dammann is considered to be in good standing with the church and available for new assignments.
The trial is the first against a homosexual pastor in the denomination since 1987, when the credentials of the Rev. Rose Mary Denman of New Hampshire were revoked.

WA.OR. will go the way of the ex-state of California, as it is in the toilet now. Until the white men who have their stored Food and etc., and property in the N.W. hill's wake up to the fact, that they will not be safe or protected from the Million's of NON WHITE savage's that are now moving in greater number's every day, and these non-white's will finish the rape of them and their children, much worst than the treasonous white corporate bankster's have done in the last 100 years, so no one will be safe or free period. TAXES are have gone up in the form of doubling of all government fee's at every level. The only thing that keep's non-whites from moving in faster to the N.W. is the housing! The Semitic hate tribe's minion's of pervert's and non-whites are already screaming for more government help in getting more housing built to accomodate the non-white invasion. Once million's of Meztizo's, Asian's and Congoid's do make it to the N.W. it will be too late, so we will have to be loud, and organize white political resistance sprouting up as soon possible, as "for now" the welfare, goverment and the media have only blessing's for white displacement in the N.W. The NON white's are arrogant and sly about this, and they take glee in it, and are as shocked as the Serpent seed's that most white's are "on the outside only" still smiling...... Clean water, food, and safety is not given to a people who worship TV and Roto head clubs.... On the positive side, even with the Oregon and WA. Homo news, conditions are now sending a spritual, biological you name it signal that something is so wrong they feel it their bone's. A big percentage of white's are picking up the signal now.. Itz in the air.....

The lesbian is solidly in violation of the church's laws. But, the liberal judges that was her jury ignored the church law. As far as I can tell, most of the once-great mainline denominations are degenerate. Their conservative members of been fleeing... but there's not much place to flee to aside from the zionist denominations (Babtist, Assemblies of God, etc.).

Goes? Dude, the UMC has been apostate for ages, as have most communions of the NCC. I would characterize the NCC as the left wing of the Democrat party (and even the Greens) at prayer. If I were you, I would lobby hard to get the Orthodox out.

Sad but true. That's why I joined the Orthodox Church. I think its the one that has been least corrupted by liberalism and Jewish pressure.

I'm not really in a position to do much, but I know that any kind of ecumenicalism gets alot of resistance within the Orthodox Church. Much of it comes from the monastaries and conservative clergy and laymen. This is one advantage of having a strong monastic tradition. Many monks and nuns are conservative and traditionalist and provide a lot of stability to the Church as a whole. Most bishops came from the monastaries. Overall, the mindset of Church has always resisted virtually all change. Most parishes still use the old Julian calender! My parish modernized a little and uses the old calender for everything except celebrating Christmas. Even this seemingly small change created controversy when the Bishop ordered it a few years ago.
In relation to this outrageous act of apostasy by the Methodists, I honestly don't see the Orthodox Church EVER allowing sodomy. A while back the leader of my jurisdiction released a statement basically explaining that Orthodoxy has never and will never approve of homosexuality among parishioners and especially the clergy. Nobody, even a the highest metropolitian or group of bishops, has the authority or power to change 2,000 years of Church Tradition on sodomy.
